  • Definitely adding you as a friend :) I want to compete in a sprint distance triathlon in the summer of 2013 too! I am doing c25k now because I am a terrible runner and plan on buying a bike soon--I might start just using it to commute ~4 miles to and from work. I used to swim competitively, so I'm not as worried about…
  • I have always eaten very slowly and I have been chubby for many years. I know people of all sizes who eat at all different paces. I wish I didn't eat so slowly because I can't take a quick 30 min lunch...I am just too slow.
  • See if there are other indoor pools you can get a membership to? Join a master's swim team? Take an adult swimming or swim training class?
  • I have the Nathan Shadow Belt and I love it. I would say I can't live without that, my iPhone, nike tempo shorts, body glide, and speedo vanquisher goggles (just bought mirrored ones for sunny days!). Oh, and a sweatband for my wrist--that thing keeps my eyes happy.
  • I like Stevia as well. Truvia is made from stevia also.
  • Thank you runnerdad! I will look into those cleats at my local running store! And I will definitely remember to wear my old shoes when it rains--I hadn't thought of that, but I do not want to ruin my nice ones. I already have body glide which I use for swimming and so I will definitely start using it when needed for…
  • Thanks for posting that site kspecks! Last night I was forced to use my gym's indoor pool due to rain (why in the world they closed the outdoor one for rain alone I do not understand) and they had the workout up for a swim training class that I have been too intimidated to attend (even though I swam competitively for half…
  • I go to a core class where we do side planks, and they are killer. Try 4 and 5 on this website--we also do 5 with 3-5lb weights. http://blog.sixpackatsixty.com/2011/05/20/abs-and-core-exercises-%E2%80%93-beyond-the-basic-plank/
  • My thoughts are this: I'm not going to eat when I am not hungry. I think the signals from my body are a lot more accurate than what people on MFP message boards tell me. Also, I feel that MFP way overestimates calories burned through exercise. I usually eat back maybe 100-200 of my exercise calories, but that's it.
  • Good for you! That is such a good feeling :)
  • I jog on an empty stomach in the mornings too. I don't feel lightheaded but I also tend to eat dinner around 7:30 or 8 so I think I am not hungry because of this. Maybe try a little protein before bed or perhaps some light carbs first thing in the morning? Would a banana work maybe? I love bananas with breakfast :)
  • Finished week 2 this morning and it felt great! It might have helped that it was about 65* out though :) I am a bit nervous for the three minute run next week, but I'm sure we will all do great!
  • Thanks everyone! I am most worried about slipping and falling in either rain or snow/ice. I suppose I will just have to be careful. Thanks especially to brandyk's encouragement, if you can run through a Minnesota winter, I can certainly handle doing so in Chicago!
  • Love this! Thanks for posting it :)
  • I will add you :) I am also 24. Height just shy of 5'4" SW 165 CW 158.4 GW 130 I am doing c25k and also go to the gym in the evenings. Best wishes for your upcoming wedding!
  • I am glad to hear I am not the only one like this! I get really frustrated if I can't keep my routines and it has never really made sense to me why. I am very specific about them too--I have both daily and weekly routines. I do certain chores and exercises the same day of the week every week. I even do this with certain…
  • My thoughts exactly. Birth control is so worth a little weight gain, although the OP might consider looking into other forms of bc. And to miss "natural planning," the fact that you have seven children has turned me off of natural planning forever. Thanks for informing me that it clearly does not work at all.
  • I saw your post and you are welcome to add me if you like. I just didn't respond because I thought that perhaps we have different goals as I am trying to eat mostly only healthy food with occasional, infrequent indulgences. I too am a 20-something still carrying about 20lbs gained in college.
  • Try meeting with a physical therapist? Or, judging by your use of the word 'chav,' you might know them as a physiotherapist.
  • Body Glide
  • Frozen dinners like that tend to be quite high in sodium. Perhaps you are retaining water.
  • Turn on your AC! I would vomit too if I worked out in my living room, which doesn't have AC. It's hotter in there than it is outside!
  • Lots and lots of stretching. Try holding your stretches for 15 seconds or longer--this helps me!
  • This. I often get told to be somewhere 15-20 minutes before I need to be there by friends, family, and my boyfriend because of this. Your husband is probably doing the same thing.
  • Check the pintrest "health and fitness" section. People have posted tons of workouts to do during TV shows. For example, anytime someone cries on "Say Yes to the Dress" do 5 pushups. It's kind of like a drinking game but with exercise instead of booze. Also, do you have a jogging stroller? I saw a dad running and pushing…
  • Completed W2D2 today! It felt a bit easier than Monday, but still definitely not easy. I think I might do an extra run on Saturday just to make the transition to week 3 smoother. Good luck everyone! You're all doing great! AngelP, it IS a lot more difficult to run outdoors than it is to run on a treadmill. Maybe try…
  • I listen to church music...the playlist I have is just ripped from an old songs for worship CD that one of my friends copied for me in high school so I have no idea who it is or anything, but it is full of songs that we sang often at my parents' church, and they are pretty upbeat. Sometimes I listen to country. Just listen…
  • I want to know about this too--they are so expensive! You might try a used one on craigslist maybe?
