I don't follow the diet because there are very few vegetarian recipes. I do the calorie estimate for no workout and workout days, and I have my fitbit, and manage my macros. To be honest I focus mostly on calories and protein, particularly on workout days.

I used to "earn" my calories ahead of time so I had an excuse to binge, but I had a few problems with that: a) I accepted the "estimated" calories burn that MFP WAY over inflates. b) I would find myself trying to "earn" calories every day to excuse my eating, so that I would log just normal walking around the office, etc.…

I mix a scoop of protein powder in to a cup 1% or fat free cottage cheese and eat it with berries. It makes the cottage cheese taste WAY better, and its a TON of protein (25-30g for the protein powder, another 24-30 for the cottage cheese)

Haha the big brawny guys can be helpful! Today one randomly helped me with my form on deadlifts (I wasn't sticking out my booty enough), and noticed that I'm deadlifting the highest amount he's ever done (145!) I felt like a total badass :)

Agreed, I do portion control (pizza, really anything with cheese) and make sure I have room for it in my calorie goal (i.e. I know that I'm going to be going to a bar and have several drinks, I make sure I have fewer carbs earlier and reduce my calories/increase my exercise to approximate how much I expect to have).

Look up body weight workouts. Aside from walking/running there are all kinds of strength training you can do with just your body weight (not just push ups!)

Make sure you regularly take pictures. I know that is what has been keeping me motivated. Also, looking at pictures in the "success story" thread always makes me inspired because I get jealous and can't wait till I can post my "before and after" rather than my "before and during"
