Oh, and be sure to take "befores"! I'm so excited I did, I'm not even done with stage 1 and there's already a HUGE difference (even though the difference on the scale is minor)

This is from May 2012 to January 2013: and this is from March 26 2013 to today, April 21, 2013 (one month of doing the new rules of lifting for women).
-
Yes! Heavy lifting has totally re-started my weight (and definitely size) loss (see my main profile pic! It's a one month difference from lifting).
-
YES. I hit a major plateau (like 6 months) after I lost the first 30 (started at 240). Now I'm eating 1800 and losing again!
-
My "nope" was in response to the topic title, not to "should I change this?" lol
-
Nope. You will plateau your butt off (trust me, I lost when I was eating 1600 and doing cardio, plateaued after 30 lbs, reduced to 900-1200 and doing cardio and the scale didn't budge. Now I'm eating 300 under my TDEE (approximately 1800 calories) and weight lifting and its falling back off. Look up "In place of a road…

you have come to the right place. I used to try to log my calories on Web MD and I couldn't stay motivated. I have logged in here every day since I started! Add me if you'd like, I like to have more friends to work on this together!!!!
-
you're such an inspiration!
-
You are amazing to get everything so together now! Congrats!
-
Agreed! My fiance yells at me for always looking at my "fitness porn" (this thread). This keeps me going because I get so excited to be able to eventually post my successes!
-
Thanks guys! In other news, these pictures inspired me to clean my bathroom... my mirror was so spotty!
-
awesome! Your belly is so much smaller and (not to be creepy, but) your booty is way more sculpted!

I'm 5'8" and I started at 240 in May 2012, was doing cardio and low cal (1400 net/day) and hit a major plateau around 215 in August. Until about January when I reduced even more (most days between 900 and 1200), but it wasn't sustainable. I was around 208 when I started NROL4W at the end of March. I'm still in stage 1…

I'm near the end of stage 1 and I've been thinking about trying C25K in my off days (Tues, Thurs), but I honestly haven't been up to it because I've been sore. As far as stage 1 advice, for step-ups rather than increasing the weight, focus more on increasing the height of your steps (I've gone from 3 blocks under the step…

can't wait to get to onederland, myself! congrats!

Definitely stairs! I got to see Jim Gaffigan perform last night (one of my favorite comedians!) and I had to walk up the equivalent of about 4 flights of stairs to get to my seat with NO LANDING! At first I was intimidated because I hadn't been to that venue in a very long time and I was anticipating being embarassed…

^This. I also recommend boca burgers as a low calorie burger alternative. If you (like me) don't like sweet potatoes, Lay's Light chips are a low calorie alternative (75 calories for one oz)
-
You look amazing! Congrats!

5'8" size 2? Hope you have a small frame. I'm 5'8" and even at my thinnest post-puberty I was a size 7. Fishes are meat, silly! You are a pescatarian. Otherwise, I suggest throwing in some heavier weight lifting than you're used to. While you won't lose many lbs, you will shrink in size!

I'm vegetarian so I get my protein from non-meats. Sometimes its hard to get enough, but I rely on whey protein shakes (I generally blend them with almond milk, berries and lots of ice so its thick like ice cream), different textured vegetable proteins (boca burgers, veggie nuggets, etc), and beans (chickpeas, black beans,…

I'm on week 4 of stage 1 and I agree, my thighs feel like freaking steel. I had my coworker touch one when I was flexing and she said "OMG it feels like I'm poking a bone". While I have noticed significant improvements in my upper body (I can feel my pecs developing, my biceps are firmer) I'm not noticing the radical…

This is a difference of 12 lbs.

It sounds like when you "relapse" you're giving up rather than learning from mistakes. What I mean by this is... What should happen "Oh crap, I gave into my craving and had 3 slices of pizza for dinner instead of eating healthier. I'm 400 calories over my goal. I'll work harder tomorrow, stay on goal, and make sure I work…

Your measurements speak for themselves, scale be damned. Have you taken pictures? I have barely lost 12 lbs in the past like 7 months and the places I regularly measure (Belly and hips) have barely changed, but when I looked at pictures it made a HUGE difference. Also, eat more. Google "TDEE" calculator. Find out what your…

Yup! search for the group Happy Herbivores! We have our own special message board :)

You want to eat WAY more calories than that (but still under maintenance level) to increase lean mass while decreasing fat. Find out what your TDEE (Total Day Energy Expenditure) is (google TDEE calculator, you'll find one easily). Eat 20% LESS calories than your TDEE. Manage your macronutrients (eat about 40% carbs,…

I love little NSV's like this! They remind you of what we're doing this for!

Agreed! I work at a correctional facility and regularly have to explain to my male residents that just because another male considers himself gay does not mean they are attracted to each of them. Additionally, I try and explain to them that if they are hit on by another male it shouldn't be taken as offensive anymore than…
