Thank you all for the helpful responses! I'm going to research more for proper form on some of the squat exercises I can do since traditional bar on back is out of the question for me. I did forget to mention right shoulder damage when leads to a limited range of motion. I tend to stay away from straight bar and more…

Tagging along for this thread as I too have right shoulder damage and limited range of motion. No over head presses here along with a few more modifications to the way I strength train. Have to agree with the other poster, Doctor then quite possibly Physical therapy. Good luck!

No, the internet is nothing like real life. It does give someone a chance to talk crap and be degrading towards others out of cruelness without being face to face confronted or with little to no repercussions of their actions.

My training partner, who also happens to be one of my best friends, and I were running triangle drills in BJJ. It was his turn to rep a few from guard. On about the third one I tapped and he didnt release right away. First came the sound, a bubbly trumpet blast, followed by the most putrid and rank of odors. Point blank,…

I started at 319 and tried running on the treadmill which landed me in the foot doctors office with an inflamed heel..Recumbent and stationary bikes have been wonderful. Also, someone mentioned it already but resistance/weight training is a must to keep lean body mass. Best of luck to you!

Following this post as I too am obese and have been doing strength/resistance workouts along with cardio. Also taking in high amounts of protein at meal times but still keeping a sizable caloric deficit. I'm concerned about losing LBM as a result of the deficit. Since my workouts are usually late in the evening, should I…

Thanks Mac, this definitely sheds some light on why I would think I had such a large LBM gain in such a short amount of time. Some other questions to those much more experienced in the matter than I. I'm confused about post workout snacks. Normally before strength training nights I would have a decent amount of protein(…

I too am a bit skeptical about the LBM in such a short amount of time. The calculations came from some weird looking scale that I had to get all but naked to stand on. I was told it was only accurate if I were consistent with the weigh ins and I get this handy dandy little print out . Honestly I have no idea how accurate…

The doctor...I've been going once a week, this is the print out I get after being weighed..I compared 2 print outs which were 19 days apart. I could very well be wrong, if I knew the answers I wouldn't be posting questions here :)
