Congratulations to all you "Losers" (And that is definitely meant as a compliment!). It's wonderful to hear that you are all conquering the medications. Isn't it a little sad how doctors always seem to go straight for the meds rather than treating the cause? You ahve all done brilliantly, keep up the good work!…

Goal: 90 miles So far: 4 Miles Remaining: 86 miles Not bad but not brilliant. Must do better!

I am taking up the challenge  My goal is to cover an average of 3 miles per day so I guess that makes 90 miles in the month of November. Best get moving then!

I began in the same place as you! With support from my friends here and armed with the wealth of information available on MFP I am making (slow but steady) progress. Feel free to add me as a friend :)

For years I had an over-active thyroid which meant I could eat whatever, I wanted in whatever quantity I wanted and my weight struggled to move above 84lbs. Then this wonderful little organ suffered a complete malfunction and broke down completely in a year I gained 80lbs. I now get my thyroxine artificially and struggle…

Hello everyone! I was diagnosed as hypothroid 20 years ago and have been taking Levothyroxine ever since. Initially I gained about 50 - 60 lbs, My hair fell out, my skin was dry and just plain horrible. My memory became very unreliable and I was beyond exhausted all of the time. I take 175mg daily and have been on this…

A goal, no matter how small, is a goal. Hope you achieve it!

I can't offer any advice but am suffering just like you (am also 48) so will be interested to see what advice others can offer

Just go for it. I did it cold turkey about 15 months ago. I now can't stand the taste of tea or coffee. (I drank copious amounts of both previously). Be warned though, it will hurt. If the headache gets too much take a simple painkiller and drink lots of water to help flush your system. Good luck!

You are doing a fantastic job, well done!

My youngest daughter has been vegetarian for about 6 years now but her diet is poor. She won't eat pulses or lentils and relies on dairy for the bulk of her protein. She eats a limited amount of vegetables. She now has multiple joint problems (mainly ankles, elbows and shoulders) and is awaiting investigative surgery. I…

Just no

That people weighing double what I did can do jumping jacks so man up and get on with it. I'm now waiting for knee surgery as I popped the cartilage!
-
Yep my 6 mile walk has,so far cost me 17 calories!!! I now have a calorie deficit and it's only 5pm! I have emailed MFP but no response so far
-
At the risk of being repetitive, you are not eating nearly enough calories

I use a Fitbit One but my son has a fuel band. I asked him for his opinion and (to my surprise) he suggested that a Fitbit would be the better option as it syncs with MFP. He also said that the Fuel Band takes no account of the calories you burn simply by being alive (BMR). Hope this helps

What a fantastic post! Like you (author) I am also enjoying my new relationship with food. Finding out that I can say "no" if I choose to, that I can help myself, that I don't have to do anything has been great. Like you, if I want it, I eat it and log it. I then move on

It will but keep at it and you will adjust in 3 - 4 days. I did it in September and I'm 48. My previous exercise stretched to walking to the kitchen for another drink. I'm now hooked and can't rest until I've 'done something' Good luck!
