I always stop mine after my stretching and cool down. I still consider the cool down part of my workout, so I count those calories too.

Wow that's awesome! Congratulations and good luck on the next 100!! :drinker:

Hey Shivah, and welcome to MFP! This website is great for helping you reach your goals since there are so many resources to take advantage of. The message boards are wonderful when you have questions about anything, and the people are are always nice and encouraging! Not to mention the huge food database on here! But be…

Awesome job! You look great!

I LOVE ChaLean Extreme! I did one round of it and then came back for another. I'm half way through the Burn Phase now. I'm actually about to do my morning workout in a few min, which is the Burn Intervals. Here's the link to the ChaLean Extreme thread if you want to join us:…

My dog LOVES sliced cheese and potato peelings. He also likes chips, but he won't touch a cracker of any kind... I'm still confused about the cracker thing.. even though he loves cheese more than anything, he won't even eat cheese crackers. One of my other dogs will eat anything. She won't even chew if she doesn't…

Eating a few almonds or a boiled egg usually works for me. Most of the time I'm still hungry when I first get done eating them, but if I give it a little while it will usually satisfy my cravings. Granola bars and fruits are good for when you just gotta have something sweet.

Machines can over-estimate calories burned most of the time. Your best bet to get the most accurate reading would be a HRM with a chest strap. I had a Polar F11, but I got a Polar FT60 and I love that one!

I noticed the same thing! You look great and so happy! Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

My best advice would be to lead by example and offer support and advice only when asked. Sometimes people can want to change, but be resistant when someone pushes it on them. I'm sure they will come around if you keep offering them to work out with you or help make a healthy meal. So keep doing what you're doing and be…

I've found MFP's calculations to be pretty steady with those of my HRM. I would agree that "circiut training, general" is probably the closest exercises to calculate your calorie burn for 30DS.

Good luck! You can do it. Why don't you post back on this thread how you did for accountability? That way all the junk won't be so tempting if you have to report back here to us!

I've found that I lose weight much faster if I go to bed a little hungry. If I'm starving, then I'll eat a little something. But I've read so many articles that say the metabolism slows while sleeping. (Sorry, not trying to confuse the topic any further). But most things related to weight loss other than the basics is…

Hey Christine! I'm very sorry about your loss. But know you can definately do this! You don't have to let your emotions take over. Focus on being strong and healthy to carry yourself through the tough times. I know sometimes exercising isn't the first thing I want to do, but like you, I know I'll feel so much better once I…

I have the FT60 too and I LOVE it! I've had a few others (another Polar, and a Mio from WalMart) and the FT60 is much better than the others. However, I paid $190 for it, and you can get a good watch without all the bells and whistles for much less. Amazon.com has a lot of helpful reviews so you can make sure you're…

Losing 22 pounds is definately something to be proud of! I know what you're going through.. I wanted to reach certain weights by certain times and I didn't meet those "deadlines" I gave myself and I'd get upset and not lose anything for a while. I started my journey at 19 weighing 245. It's taken me a while to lose 50…

I noticed that this program made my butt look more rounded and lifted. I was happy with the results though.

Since talking with your doctor is more individual-specific, I would give it a try. Many people on here eat all, some, half, or none of their calories. I've heard of success stories with each. It can't hurt to give it a try since nothing else is working. Just be sure you're eating ENOUGH calories. If you don't eat enough…

Are you asking if you can input other exercises that better describe what you're doing? The ones you set when you first make an account (sedentary, lightly active, etc) are just the ones that describe your day to day activities. When you go walking, gardening, or anything else you may want to put in as a workout, you can…

Awesome job! Getting under 200 is a major milestone! Keep up the great work.

I would go with the recommendation to put your status to "lightly active" and only count exercises as those you do purposefully as a work out. If not, you could over-estimate calories burned and slow your progress.

Try it again.. and if it gives you another reading like that, I'd say it might have something wrong with it. Especially if you know you were working that hard. Did you wet the chest strap before you started? I didn't read the manual (common for me) when I got my first Polar HRM, and I didn't wet the strap most of the time.…
