I love Farmer's Markets too! I get an organic oat blend for porridge and veg. Lately I've been really keen on berries, got about 1kg of raspberries for £5 last week. Most of all I adore the met vendors, I get buffalo mince, venison sausage and I'm looking forward to fall when I can buy mixed game casserole meat cheap. Such…

I've lost 6 kgs since I started (35 days today), I didn't lose this week but I didn't gain either and I've lost a cm or 2 here and there. I'm wouldn't say I've been exercising. I have started to play squash once a week and I do my regular walking as part of life (to and from bus stops for commute, groceries etc) which adds…

Hi, I'm in the beginning of my weightloss journey (have been on here 1 month) but so far it's really working for me. It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. I'm not exercising much at the moment, I have finally come to realise that weightloss is far more affected by diet (nutrition and amount) than exercise which is why…

Welcome to MFP! I'm sure you can do it! LIke someone else said, it can be good to make gradual lifestyle changes. For example in July I started logging all my food and promised myself I would have breakfast every day (I know this helps me with snacking YMMV), this month I'm being really strict about 5-a-day and I play…

Some women hold onto a lot of extra water during their TOM and many choose not to record their weight that week. I currently do not suffer from this, but if the scales are being mean to you and you feel you're doing everything right and it's your TOM then I'd write it off and re-evaluate if they're still mean a week from…

My favourite green veg is peas and green beans I think. I could eat peas with every meal, there is no other veg that passes that test. When I was a child my mum used to have to hide the green beans until I'd eaten some of the other food or I would only eat beans. These days unfortunatly I live away from home and in a flat,…

Uhm it's hard to recommend since i don't know what you like. But tonight I had Thai Salmon burgers (http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7712/superhealthy-salmon-burgers) which are ridiculously easy to make. I mixed some hot sweet chilli sauce with creme fraiche for a sauce. That counts as "fun" for me and it was really easy,…

I weight in Saturdays mornings, for the pathetic reason that if I'm really upset by the number at least I don't have a day of work ahead of me.

I go back and make adjustments. If you look at my diary you will see that I often eat the exact same thing for 3 or 4 days in a row since I live alone and have very limited freezer space. So I usually copy the meal from yesterday and then adjust it to reflect actually quantity. Eg last night my turkey steak was really big…

As long as she eats at a deficit she can still lose weight. I only had a brief look at your diary but you seem to eat at or slightly over your calories. Apologies if your last few days weren't indicative of overall eating pattern. The more weight she has to lose the easier it is as well I think (in the beginning). Say…

I am so confused! Changed my profile to lightly active and it gave my 5000 calories. Changed it back to sedentary and it gave me 4000... In the past for weeks I have routinely gotten 2050 calories per day???? WHAT IS GOING ON?! EDIT: MFP had a blip it mistakenly though I was over 5 meters tall, that's what's going on. Talk…

I don't track my walking as exercise. I did for the first few days but honestly things that are part of my regular life like walking for travel, buying groceries and cleaning needs to be accounted for in my lifestyle, I cannot be bothered to keep track of them as separate exercise items. I will change my settings to…

I'm hoping to reach the 10% reduction sometime mid september, this is feasible given my rate of weightloss at the moment. It's my first official goal and I've put it in my diary but if I don't reach it it's ok, I'll review my food journal and see what I could have done differently (eg, have I been ill?). I have no clue how…

My breakfast is somewhere below 300 and I struggle finishing that too. It's just some oatmeal, blueberries and milk but I need about 45 minutes to eat it.

I measure all my food in one way or another. Examples: - If I buy a pack of 4 chicken breast weighing 550 grams I don't weight them all individually. I live alone and will eat them all myself = accuracy over 4 days. Same with a manually entered recipe, I know it makes 5 servings and I box it in 5 tupperware but I don't…

Have you considered going multigrain rather than wholewheat? I have the same cardboard issue with wholegrain so I just get Deli Mission Multigrain , they are 202 kcal each so a bit over your limit but I find they're worth it. They are also quite large area wise. I'm in the UK not sure it you can get these or an equivalent…

I make a batch of soup at the weekend and then bring to work with me in a thermos for the rest of the week, it keeps just fine. This week I'm making this one: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1907/pea-and-mint-soup-

I almost always eat oatmeal either with apple sauce or fresh berries and a little bit of semi-skimmed milk, I'm currently loving Stoats porridge blend which you can get in Scotland (not sure about elsewhere). I suppose it depends whether you would be open to consuming that type of carbs in the morning. Otherwise I also…

Welcome! The first step can be the hardest, and you're doing great by giving up the fizz! I find there is an equal amount of people on this forum complaining because they're not losing weight so don't feel like EVERYONE ELSE has it figured out and it's just you out in the cold. I'm going to send you a friend request as…

I bring soup to work in a thermos :) This week i mushroom soup and since it's under 200 calories per serving I'm supporting it with a ham and lettuce wrap. Last week I had Caldo Verde which was very filling and came in at around 330 so no sides then.

I'm a Swede living abroad and i log in metric. You can friend me if you like =) I spend half my days on Norweigan customer support anyway.

I have a wide-mouth thermos and I take soup into the office every day. Make a big batch on Sunday (today it was Mushroom) and then reheat in the morning while having breakfast. I also usually have a hardboiled egg, some cheese, fruit and Kallo ricecakes over the course of the day. Feel free to check out my diary for…

11lbs in one week is not healthy. As his future wife you should encourage him to make lifestyle changes, not starve himself which invariably leads to binges. And frankly he needs to do this for himself - if he's in it because of pressure from someone else then he is set up to fail IMO. Is he currently using MyFitnessPal?…

I have the same problem. SInce I started MFP I'm eating healthy and filling food - unfortunatly this routinely leaves me 500 calories short of my daily goal (even with a speedy weightloss and sedentary lifestyle inputted). I feel full so I don't want to eat more (and I'm usually on target for fat and a bit over for…

Ofcourse you can have a hug :) Maybe you can look up a new tasty recipe? That is my go-to when I feel myself slipping so instead of binging on crap it feels like a treat (and his healthy). Then again I enjoy cooking.
