I recently had trouble with Brook Pure Flow's. At just less than 200 miles they were falling apart. I emailed them, they replaced the shoe - on a "one time" option. But informed me that the Pure shoes are only expected to get 200 miles at the most. I can run 200 miles in a month. No way would I buy those shoes again. I…

Look up Lorna Kleidman. She is the Woman's kettlebell champ, she has good videos on her webpage.

If you search online for coupon codes for Running Warehouse - they have always worked for me.

Dance and cheer until I tore the meniscus in my knee jumping off a high bridge into the water. After that, I didn't so much, to avoid surgery, they told me to stop. I went to work full time as a high school sophomore to help pay bills when my dad was out of work. I worked 3 jobs at a time through college. I mountain biked…

Went from 160 to 120, size 12 to size 0, am now about 135 but still size 0. My numbers got off this winter and it was hard hard hard to feel motivated, exercise, but I just focused on eating correctly and gained weight, but didn't gain size. My numbers go bad every time I train for another marathon, but as long as I'm not…

I am speaking from experience only, but from my understanding as a runner, the physical therapist explained it to me that runners typically have weaker hips than other sports. Mainly, because we simply "burn ours out" - not meant physically burning out the muscle, but the simple overuse of running a lot, those are where…

I have done all my cardio for years first thing in the AM and no food. Including up to 15 miles in training runs. Over 15 miles I take in gu carbs but have never ate before a run, ride, HIIT. It works for me, my body is used to it and I'm trained to do it. I think the first few weeks may be hard for some, but you can…

It was over 80 when I finished my run on Friday at 7:00 Am. I'm of the mindset, I don't care, I'm old, no one is looking, not worried about what others think.

Never worn Asics, but I have had two pair of Brooks (slow learner). My last pair were the pure connect, I've also done the pure cadence. From my email exchange with the company over my dissatisfaction of the connects, they informed me that the life of these shoes is maximum 200 miles, mine fell to pieces at 200 miles,…

I haven't read the entire thread, but have to say that I've found most runners to be a kinder, friendlier, happier group. Much more so than in a gym. I'm not overly friendly when I run, I'm hearing impaired, and frankly focus on my run and may not even really notice someone on the opposite side of the road. Too busy…

I have never let blisters stop me from running. I wear good running socks, my favs are Injinji or Thorolo's (misspelled probably) But frankly, blisters will callous over and become no big deal. Wouldn't think twice about not running with them.

Couldn't live pain free with my chiro. Mine is a sports specific chiro and DO. If you are worried, find a really awesome massage therapist that does therapeutic massage and they generally can refer you to a good chrio too. I get numbness in my feet from very tight piriformous, this can be caused from one leg being shorter…

Why do you care? I could see where the instructor may if his/her class was being walked out on, it's more personal. But I think we live in a society where people are so quick to judge other peoples actions. Mom taught me to "worry about myself" and not others, I hope my kids learn the same lesson. If it doesn't have to do…

No. It's fun, but not much of a workout.

It's the only time of the day that I ever get just to myself. I'm pulled in every direction by DH, kids, job(s), housework, etc. My run is MY time. If you aren't enjoying running, try doing something like training for a duathalon, biking and running, maybe the extra cross training will help you enjoy running more. Another…

I did doubles. Ran in Am and strength training on my lunch hour. Or I did strength training in the AM and biked at lunch. I did Yoga on my rest day. I use the Run Less Run Faster Plan, which was 3 days running, 2 days biking, that gave me one day for total body strength, 3 days for upper body, and 2 days for lower body on…

If you are already active, no. The calories I was hopeful would make sense don't. If you are using it as a motivation too because you have a hard time being active, then absolutely. If not, it's simply a glorified pedometer. It doesn't not track calories correctly for a super active person - I can run one day and my…

I think it depends on your goal. I always tell people distance before speed. If you are good with a 5K, then train to do it faster a little bit at a time. If you goal is to go relatively the same speed, but longer distances working towards a 10K, then just slow start adding distance to your run. I would strongly suggest,…

I haven't read the article. But, I know from my own personal experience, that I gain weight marathon training. The increase is stresses, cortisol, hormones, and I track my food and KNOW that I'm not overeating or giving myself the ability to eat anything. I gain weight. As soon as I back off training, I generally can lose…

I've been running about 3 1/2 years. I run 3 days a week following that plans in Run Less Run Faster (FIRST system). I've been really happy with it - I PR'd my half using it. Ran my marathon successfully, and am now training to PR my next half. I also am able to maintain consistent 1/2 marathon times. It is 3 days of…

I can't bring myself to sign up for one - my friends really want me to - however, How do you get home clean? You are wanting color to stay on - "I" want it off me asap. I'm not a fan of being dirty, and the idea of having that in my car on the trip home is a little too much for me. How do you clean up at the end?

I turn into a pumpkin at 9:00 PM. This week I haven't due to work, it's killing me. I'm up at 5:00 AM regardless of what time I get to bed. If I don't get my AM workout in, it may not happen. I've been trying to hit doubles, AM and Lunch during July and August while the kids are not overly busy themselves with things that…

I think you are comparing apples and oranges. I add whey to my shakeology to increase the protein content. I personally think they are two different products.
-
What are you diary settings? Mine are 35/35/30. I think it depends what your goals are. I'd probably pay closer attention to the carbs than the proteins, IMO. I'm no expert. But I think your age makes a difference too, older you get you need a little more protein from what I understand.

I haven't read this exchange, but am entertained by the fact that someone thought that an authority can/will show up. We have 1 county sheriff on duty for a 300 mile radius, in the city, it's a 25 mile radius for city limits and there may or may not be an officer on duty. Even with 'shots fired' it may take 15 minutes to…

I have not read the first 9 pages, so apologize if I repeat anything. At the OP, I have packed for years, never in my bra. I use a Nathan Trail Hydration belt and have a Ruger LCP that fits well. I also have compression shorts that I wear under shorts when I don't wear my belt, that has a spot for a gun, I ordered them…

I have not been impressed with my fitbit for anything other than fun funky information to track movements. Its fun to see the data, I really like the sleep tracking feature, it's taught me a lot about my sleep patterns. It's definitely a pedometer and not a HRM or calorie calculator. My own personal opinion, is that it's…

I used then for a very short time. Ingot severe migraines every time used their products, ended up sick to my stomach and overall felt worse than ever.
