Quad from bone seperation
As I correctly diagnosed this for my father back in December when he injured himself, the second Dr said he needs surgery. Anyone ever dealt with this - what's recovery like? He has tendon involvement as well that will need re-attached. I did read because of the delayed treatment it could make things worse.

Massage Therapy
I'm a long distance runner and have used massage therapy for staying injury free. Love it, swear by it, believe in it. So my long term massage therapist in my small town is no longer available to me. The other guy, that is "acceptable" is too difficult to schedule around for me, so I'm starting over. So the first guy I…

Kettlebell Kickboxing
I love Kettlebell workouts and have really enjoyed Les Mills Combat from Beachbody. But I just found this new 4 DVD set for Kettlebell Kickboxing. It's not expensive - $60 - I already have kettlebells. Has anyone tried these? What is a review of them?

Ketogenic Diet and Running
In November, I switched over to a Keto diet. Just curious to know if anyone else here is doing this as well and what your results are? It's amazing to me that i can run 18-20 miles on nothing but salt water. I'm cutting body fat too. I'm not really testing for 6 months, but can physically see the difference. I feel…

The Book: Grain Brain
Has anyone read it? What are your thoughts? I've just started it. But I read it from the perspective that both of my children have Celiac disease, not for general knowledge or information. But main because it's a lifestyle which we were handed and work through. I generally have felt pretty blessed by having gluten free…

Endurance Running with Keto Diet
I'm looking for some answers to questions about marathon training on a Keto diet. I've read a couple of books but connecting with someone who has actually done it would be helpful. Please message me.

Adidas Springblade
I'd love to hear from any runner who has tried these shoes. They are outrageously expensive, but so intriguing at the same time.

StrideBox
Fun thing to ask for as a christmas gift. They ship monthly - a small box of things for runners - Example... this month was a Epic Bar, Smarty Vitamins, a flashing ring, healing salve and lip balm, Energems, and a few other items. I've received a runner's slouch bag, temporary tattoos, gluten free bars, protein chips etc…

Shakeology - Other Options?
I've been very happy with using Shakeology for the past few years - however, due to BeachBody's horrible customer service through coach relations, I've closed my "coach" account, which allowed me to buy at a discount. I'm looking for a different "full meal" replacement. I already add extra protein to shakeology - but I…

Camping
I'm so annoyed, I just want to vent. Both of my boys, 12 and 14 have Celiac disease. They are going to Boy Scout camp in Sunday. Every year it's a battle of lack of knowledge and unwillingness to help. So, we verified on Monday that we did everything we needed to and that food wouldn't be and issue. Friday at 4:00 pm I got…

Thyroid Help
I know that there are several people on this site that know a lot about thyroids and I'm just looking for quick answers as to what I should be asking my dr. They have changed my thyroid meds and increased my dose three times, October, December, March, and May. Each time the dose has gotten higher but the tests come back…

Elliptical Speed and Distance
My home elliptical, don't remember brand, has speed or rpm and distance. I'm trying to figure out what "speed" is. I don't use the RPM, as I'm not sure how they calculate out. I was at 11.1 this Am for speed and I did it 45 minutes, with part of that a slower warm up at 9 or so and it said my distance was 9. I'm assuming…

Favorite Whey Brand
Anyone willing to share - cost vs quality and flavor, etc... what are the favorites? I'm hopeful to find a product that has no artificial sugars but other than that, not super picky. I plan on adding it to my regular smoothie to just kick up protein a little since I've gone meat free.

Safe to RUn
What would you do? There as an alleged kidnapping last week about 6 miles from my home. I generally run on country roads, that are less traveled and lonely. This supposedly happened early evening, on a main rural highway, but well traveled road. The story is that a woman's car broke down, someone stopped to help, and…

Homemade Energy Gel
Is anyone making their own homemade energy gels? I found a couple recipes, with or without extra protein. I'm looking for one that has caffeine in it - thinking of adding ground espresso beans? Also, how are you packing these with you? Looks like Hammer Gel sells a flask set for 5oz. This would be more than enough for me?

Graston technique
Has anyone had this done for injury recovery? What were your results? I have been battling leg pain for several weeks now. I have never taken before and after photos. But for Combat I did. It will be interesting to see if I can see any changes I never have been able to before with any program I've done. Yeah! Good to Go.
Dr. totally released me to do whatever I want exercise wise. My ankle fracture is totally healed. I'm still headed to Physical Therapy for some ultrasound on my glute insertion tear, but he said that shouldn't restrict me from anything. I'm SO excited. I'm running at lunch today, so I skipped P90X2 chest and shoulders and…

My Combat/P90X2 Hybrid
So the way the two schedules are falling - I'm basically doing upper and lower body workouts on the same days. YIKES. It's great to push myself, but I"m totally shredding myself at the same time. Saturday I did Combat HIIT Plyo, Inner Warrior - than ran a 5K with my kids. Yesterday I did Combat 45 (my favorite so far) and…

Garmin 410 Question
I downloaded through Sync my Garmin this AM to the Garmin Website. I've done it numerous times - about 1 time per week. So it appears if my info…

No Cardio Training
I'm only strength training for the next 4 weeks due to a stress fracture and can't run. So, I'm sticking with upper body strength training, balance, yoga, and ab work. Had anyone been able to maintain their current fitness level w/o cardio for a period of time beyond 3 weeks?

Does Age Matter
Just finished my marathon and need to take time off running due to an injury. So I will be focussing on upper body and lifting. I've done P90X once, and P90X2 once, I love lifting, love my kettlebell (but can't do it right now because of low ceilings) and I"m not afraid to lift heavy. However, as a runner, I've been…

Tibialis Anterior Tendonitis
I have a stress fracture in my tibia and Tendonitis in my rt ankle. It's pretty bad after finishing my marathon on Sunday. Has anyone dealt with this?
