Definitely hit up a bike shop. I got a bike a few years ago when I was well over 300 lbs. More of a mountain bike, but I found that if you tell them your concerns, they should definitely be able to answer your questions. Total km traveled in week 1 of April: 27.6! Goal: 320 km Actual: 27.6 Remaining: 292.4 Umer, you're kicking my trash so far. If I can get 3 rides in each week I should still meet my goal and I can throw in a 4th ride with my family for fun.

My goal for April is 320 km (200 miles)! I blew out March's goal of 160 km by over 80 km. If I can add in 1 extra bike ride a week for an hour I can make this. Should be doable. Wife and kids all have their bikes tuned up and ready to go. Going to drag them along with me kicking and screaming, at least part of the way...…

Real short ride tonight... but I saved my Yukon from having to start up. ;) 1.35 miles = 2.16 km... there was a good hill which made me work for it.

33.38 miles = 53.4km! Finally broke the 50 km mark in one ride! Total for March 190.2km! Broke my goal and I have a whole week to go! :) Going to shoot for 250... maybe I can break it up in smaller increments. 50+ km was killer today.

Well I didn't give birth to a kid, but I have put on "sympathy weight" with each one of our kids. I started at 330 pounds last July and around 51-52% body fat. I am now down around 242 pounds and just recently fell outside the "morbidly obese" category! You can do this. If I can do it, anyone can!!! Take it slow at first.…
