They shouldn't hinder your weight loss but like stated in other comments log it! Most protein shakes and bars are meal replacements so don't drink like 10 of them lol, but protein shakes and bars are great for muscle gain which may possibly show a slight increase in weight.

It's very possible to lose weight without exercise that's basically the joy of MFP but exercise is nice for adding more calories to your log so you can consume more, also you should try some form of exercise just because it's recommended and has health benefits.

If you are looking for snacks then it shouldn't be hard, there's almost a fat free/ low fat version to every food item I've seen in stores, I personally like low fat pudding or jello with fat free whip cream.

Well first of all it's great your doing cardio and strength training, also yes eating can cause that especially if foods are higher in sodium, I guess I didn't really see that much about your diet on this post, work out 3 times a week eat right and you should have no problem!

I agree with the majority of people who are replying to this. Its definitely about portion control! You can still enjoy things you like, But also you can find many food products that have like reduced fat/sodium etc... Example-If you like peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches you can get reduced fat peanut butter and sugar…

I found that my main issue with salads is the dressing! I even use a fat free zesty italian and the sodium is like 480g just for 2 tablespoons, I don't need that much but that's still alot of sodium in my opinion.

All I can really say is don't blame fast food for your weight gain, if its "addicting" break the habit and never return!

For breakfast daily I have a bowl of quaker instant oatmeal (apples & cinnamon) and a cup of orange juice, it really helps wake me up and I get a good boost of energy. Plus oatmeal is lower is calories, cheap, and delicious.
