  • I take a protein drink to have at some point during the day. I use skim milk and a scoop of whey protein, and have either mid-morning or mid-afternoon. It is quick to drink and adds great energy at about 200 calories. An apple is also quick and healthy.
  • Sounds like a great plan! I'm in!
  • Those green cups are awesome! I'll have to get some, too! I was always taught to add a dash of vinegar to keep the whites from running all over the place. I use white wine vinegar so it does not add a "vinegar-y" taste. Works for me!
  • Definitely hang in there! If it's low energy, try having a V8 or high-protein yogurt in the afternoon. If you are not doing weights in your workout, try adding those if you are not seeing the results you feel you should have by now. Also, I saw your question yesterday about the sauna: I have heard that you can lose weight…
  • Jose Cuervo has a ZERO calorie mix. It's ok, but better if you add a splash of Tropicana 50 (5-10 calories in a splash). Margaritaville has a SUGAR FREE mix that is 10 calories and it is GREAT! Love it! So, it's about the same calories as the one you make. I'll have to try your recipe, too!
  • I can't remember exact dates because I've had so many, but the most recent date is 1/8/10. I LOVE to exercise, but have been so sluggish, especially in the winter. I do best in group exercise classes and love Zumba! My challenges are getting home after a long day and snacking instead of preparing a meal. I am so tired of…
  • Yogurt with Grapenuts is very filling. But don't let it sit too long or it gets mushy! Also, a glass of almond milk or skim milk is filling.
  • On the aching muscles, basics are most helpful: stretch, light to moderate walking, drink plenty of water, and make sure you've had enough calories that day. Bananas help, too. I would be cautious taking ibuprofen or any anti-inflammatory unless it's truly necessary. Sometimes we can overdo it, and end up with intolerance…
  • The others are correct - when you joined the gym, they should have someone available to you to show you how to use the equipment - at no extra charge. This is for their benefit as well as yours. The other suggestions are great, too - take pictures of workouts you want to try and ask someone to show you how to do them…
  • Oatmeal Baked sweet potato Yogurt Grapenuts (to mix with yogurt) Spinach:tongue:
  • In the past when I had lost weight, when I did eat more I lost weight more steadily. Someone sent me this blog link yesterday that addresses this subject: http://www.debramoorhead.com/blog/index.php/how-i-lost-25-pounds-in-one-month/ It is very interesting!
  • I tried Juice Plus for three months and I did not notice a benefit. I think the others are right - have the whole fruit or get a juicer!
  • It's a great time of year for hot chocolate! Nestle has a 25 calorie hot chocolate - it hits the spot!
  • I had the same problem! You can add it to the database. When you search for the exercise and it is not found, there is an option at the bottom of the page that will allow you to add. Have a great workout!
  • Everyone is right on target with their posts. I, too, have those struggles, and responded to a similar message last week suggesting visualization. I was have trouble getting motivated to exercise, even though I had the time, the access and the ability. However, I visualized myself exercising and how good I feel afterward.…
  • I'm right there with you! I am my own worst enemy. However, I just ordered some CD's to help me in the business world, but I used their visualization technique yesterday to get myself to exercise! I had no energy, no motivation and it was raining outside. BUT, I visualized myself doing an aerobic video and how good I would…
  • YAAY, YOU! That is awesome!!! :)
  • I agree that it depends on the individual. I try to eat my largest meal at lunch, so when I get home later after a work out, I just eat cereal or have a protein drink, soup or yogurt with grapnuts. This way I'm not starving and am consuming only about 200 calories.
