If it seems oily it probably is. Ask for the sauce on the side so you can control it because that is most likely where the unknown cals are. You can always look up rice, veggies and tofu easily.

-Sliced, Raw -Stuffed (can take out rice for Paleo friendly) -Add to almost any sauce -Sautee with onions and garlic and turn into a broth/cream based soup -Stir Fry -Gumbo -Add to a breakfast hash

A friend and I once planned the "perfect meal" which was basically our favorite things from five different restaurants. We planned a route and scaled the city all day. Once we had all the items we took them home and had a ritual feast. It was actually pretty fun but also kind of a fat thing to do...

It's all about the calorie deficit. Have you checked your recommended daily caloric intakes to see how many cals you need to maintain your current weight? MFP has some good tools for this and that way you can set your calorie goal in a deficit. I'm not a fan of diet shakes or meal replacements because they just aren't a…

I love all hot sauces. The dish indicates the kind of hot sauce I prefer. For eggs, I like a Tapatio or Valentina sauce. For Chipotle style dishes I like a Tabasco or vinegar based sauce. For Asian foods I like Sriracha. The list goes on but hot sauces make everything better.

Never be hungry! There are many low cal foods that are filling and you should incorporate these. For example, If you do cereal in the morning try a big bowl of puffed brown rice with berries or grapes and low cal skim milk. You can eat lots of low cal soups and fresh veggies and fruits in addition to whatever else you are…

Working on a short term of 10 to get my out of obese island then I'll be working on another 30. MFP is great because not only is it helpful but it's always there in the even you fall off track and come back.

I'm the same height. Thanks for posting!

Hey Yo! Feel free to add me. Technically I need to lose 50 lbs to even step foot in the normal weight section of my BMI chart. I'm down about 15 lbs in the last few months and down more than that from my highest so I've been there!

I think you are in the same boat with a lot of us. It's always discouraging but if you want to do better you have to keep working at it everyday. All these cleanses, detox, insanity shreds, etc are just fads. Yes they work to lose weight but it's rare for a person to use it as a jumping off point. Instead we use it to help…

If you like to drink just factor it in. I was drinking frequently when I lost the largest amount I've ever lost by factoring it all in. I have cut way back in the last few months but that is because of vanity as I think it ages people. We'll see how long that lasts! I would say some drinks are better than others. Beer is…

There was actually a lawsuit about it (albeit frivolous in my opinion) a few years back. I found this story about it for a link http://consumerist.com/2008/10/10/lawsuits-claim-applebees-weight-watchers-food-has-too-much-fat/. It's not the restaurant's fault necessarily so I'm not trying to slam on place over another. It's…

1. Chipotle is delicious. 2. The ingredients are whole foods and fresh. 3. You can tell them how much and what you want in your bowl. In terms of fast food I think Chipotle is the best. Even when I do get too much rice down my pie hole I still feel like I made a good choice because it's real food my body can get nutrients…

Ah I see the allergic to fresh fruit. I've known someone like that too and that stinks. Try broth based soups in addition to your meals to help fill you up and LOG IT ALL! Just keep going, it's a journey. You're not "fat" the same way as you won't be "skinny" by the end of this. You will just be "you" so don't get hung up…

Looks like a lot of gaps in logging. The devil is in the details so you really want it all on the table when researching your diary. One thing I do see is that you could be adding a lot more veg and fruit to your meals. It helps you feel fuller and gives you the nutrients you need. I know you want to stay low carb but you…

The sizes may change but the tape measure stays the same!

I think you're doing awesome and congrats! I am losing but not with the fury that you are! I definitely agree with other commentators that you should change up your menu because boredom with your food can be a killer! In regards to sodium, I know you're a self proclaimed picky eater so maybe start small by subbing out your…

Hello! Feel free to add me. I was over 220 (too flabbergasted to log the actual number) back in April. I decided to turn to a more natural and healthy life and focus on this instead of keeping my focus solely on losing weight. I'm now down over 21 lbs. I'm not perfect and it's been steady but not rapid. The most important…

I see a lot of myself in your post. I call myself a food addict because I overeat and when a "treat" is in my house I literally cannot stop thinking about it until its all gone. Cookies, candies, Baked Cheetos--I'm salivating now--cannot sit on my shelves. About 7 weeks ago I decided to instead focus on my health rather…

This would not be a club I'm proud of but I am a member nonetheless. Hopefully I will be out of it in another month or so. Keep motivated!
-
Love it. Great job and great story!

I've wondered the same thing. I mostly only have sugar from fruits and this puts me over my daily goal. I understand it isn't process but I hate seeing that number turn red on my chart!
-
No one is perfect. My best advice is to never stop logging. Even if you are immobile you can still maintain or even lose. When you don't log, it's easy to lose track. Hope you find your motivation. Your body will thank you!

We all expect that first week to really motive us to keep going on. Don't let this expectation become toxic to your efforts. You are a week in and it sounds like you're doing great things to keep on track! The scale won't always cooperate. I personally think it is best to focus on the fuel you are putting into your body…

Hi, I have three more weeks as a 20 something. What would you like to talk about before I become irrelevant.

You look great and healthy! Thank you for posting.

I have a couple of diet Vodka drinks when I'm in the mood for something sweet but want to avoid sugar: For the adult side of you: Make a simple syrup out of equal parts non-calorie sweetener and water. Cook it to a boil before you use it and keep any extra in the fridge. You can squeeze some fresh berries or other fruit to…
