  • I works better for me than any other diet/eating plan I have tried. It's also tastier than a low-fat/high grain diet!
  • I second this! I love Practical Paleo!
  • Like the others said, carbs from fruit definitely count. You just have to restrict your fruit intake somewhat. I eat maybe one serving of fruit per day. Try fruits that don't have such a high sugar content like Granny Smith apples, raspberries or blueberries. Bananas and grapes have a very high amount of sugar. Fruit isn't…
  • That's a great way to look at it! And way to go on the WOD!
  • I'm Paleo-Primal as well. I've lost weight that I've been trying to lose for years after just one month. I also feel better. I eat about 1500 calories per day on this diet, and I usually don't have an issues with not feeling full.
  • I'm on a Paleo diet, so I eat lots of eggs. Love me some eggs... and bacon.
  • That just happened to me yesterday. I was having WOD-induced delirium and actually have no idea how many rounds of an AMRAP I did.
  • I have two eggs, three slices of bacon, and a handful of cherry tomatoes most mornings. I've also made some Paleo Blueberry Lemon muffins and eaten those with bacon in the morning. The muffins are nice because they keep in the fridge for about a week. They are a nice grab and go breakfast.
  • My husband was just saying that! We are so glad we didn't go Sunday! Yesterday would have been way too cold! Everyone in my group said the Arctic Enema was their least favorite. I'm more afraid of falling down and injuring myself than anything else, so I had a hard time with any of the obstacles with heights. I'm also…
  • I did my second Tough Mudder in Austin on Saturday. You'll have fun! Here is my advice: -If you can, wear something that covers your knees and elbows. I wore Under Armour capris and sweat bands around my elbows. It helped my knees and elbows from getting cut up on all the rocks and whatnot. -Wear waterproof sunscreen...…
  • I did the Tough Mudder in Austin on Saturday, too! I am suffering today... my whole body is sore! My least favorite was Everest. I gave it my best shot, but came down hard on my left side when I couldn't reach the ledge. If I ever do it again (this was my second time), I'm going to work on my trail running. I had to run…
  • I have never really had a sweet tooth, but ever since starting this diet I crave more sweets. I guess I want them now that I know I can't have them. I'm Primal (not Paleo), so when the craving comes on, I'll have a couple squares of 72% cacao dark chocolate and a handful of raspberries. I also have a recipe for Paleo "Ice…
  • I did the Tough Mudder in 2011 and I'm doing it again on October 6th. The Tough Mudder in Austin is 12 miles. It's long, not easy, and I'm still not sure how I got talked into doing it again. : ) It is a good experience, though.
  • I also use cocnut amoinos. It's not the same, but it's a good substitute. You can buy it at Whole Foods. : )
  • The Whole Foods near me sells ghee.

  • I eat a little bit of full fat dairy, but I'm more Primal than Paleo. I usually have a small Gouda Babybel cheese every other day or so. I also sneak in a little bit of milk if I'm feeling like it. I don't have digestive issues with milk, and digestive problems are the main reason why they want you to avoid it.
  • I do not find Paleo to be cheaper than a regular SAD diet... my grocery bill has gone up about $50/week. The grass-fed organic meat seems to be the bulk of the extra cost. I have done research on what non-organic fruits and veggies are safe to buy, and which ones need to be organic. Whole Foods has really good deals on…

  • True statement! I'd rather get tattooed than get a brazillian any day!
  • the pain/soreness never goes away, but after the first couple months it got easier to work through the pain. My first couple times at Crossfit, I couldn't even lift my arms to brush my teeth. Now, I'm sore but I can function. I used to never think I could go 3-5 days in a row, but now I can. It never stops hurting, but you…
  • That is so awesome! Way to go!!
  • I pay $100/month for Crossfit, and it is worth it to me! I've been a gym-goer for over a decade and really got stuck in a rut. I had just quit pushing myself. Since starting Crossfit five months ago, I don't know how I'll ever go back to a regular gym. Thanks to Crossfit, I'm doing things I never thought I could do. I've…
  • This is a great website for at-home Crossfit workouts. I use this site when I can't make it to my Crossfit box for a workout. She puts up a new Workout of the Day every day. http://calicrossfit.blogspot.com/
  • I try to stick around my 1550 calorie/day limit. Some days I'm a little over. I lost a lot of weight in my first week, but my weight loss has stalled over the last two weeks. I might need to adjust something...
  • I love cauli-rice! It's my go-to side dish!!
  • I'm on day 9, and I've already lost 8 pounds! Apparently, my body likes this whole no-grain business. I only was looking to lose 15-20 pounds total, so I hope I can keep it up! I don't expect to lose it all as fast as I did in the first 9 days... but it's definitely encouraging! I'm Primal (not Paleo), so I keep my carbs…
  • I hate them, too!! I've been Crossfitting for months and I don't seem to get any better at burpees. I'm trying the 100 Day Burpee Challenge, because I think the only way to get better is practice. I know that isn't an answer you were looking for, but I'd love some advice too. I'll be watching the thread.

  • I've been doing Crossfit for about five months, and I love it! the lifting style is different from what I learned at the gym... but that doesn't make it unsafe. The box I go to has some great trainers who do correct your form and watch us pretty closely (especially the new folks). I think a lot of people get over-zealous…
  • I made a great balsamic vinegar dressing the other day. I also found a recipe for Avocado Tatziki sauce that I've been using on salads. Here are a couple good links for dressings: http://paleodietlifestyle.com/salad-dressing-and-vinaigrettes/ http://www.paleoeffect.com/recipes/paleo-ranch-dressing-paleo-effect/…
