I think it depends on why you're into fitness in the first place. At least personally, I'm into the fitness thing because I primarily require it for work. Secondarily, I actively compete in competitions a few times a year within my chosen sports. While I'm certainly not as fast etc. as I was when competing as a teenager…

Small green apple and low-fat vanilla yogurt mixed with a half-serve of oatmeal. It's my daily breakfast :)

For lunch: Cibbatta roll, basil pesto, thinly sliced salmon, avocado, rocket (+/- extra light philly depending on how I feel).

I calorie cycle between 1500 and 2000 a day. I do intense daily cardio training (not for weight loss - for other fitness reasons), and I additionally lift heavy 2-3 times a week. Currently weigh 99 lbs and am 5'2" and can now comfortably fit a size 0 again. I have just started maintenance, so still trying to figure out the…

My chicken burger: chicken, avocado, bacon, garlic aioli on a kalamata olive cibbatta roll. or The Aussie burger: beef, onion, lettuce, tomato, egg, bacon, beetroot and ketchup on a sesame seed bun.

Travel the world. I love my job :D Not many people can say that they've been to all 7 continents at someone else's expense :)

I eat a wholegrain bread roll for lunch every day (with various fillings), and fresh from the bakery each day, so no preservatives. No harm to the weight loss at all. It fits within my daily calorie allowance and that's all that matters.

Nachos made with: entire large bag of nachos cheese doritos, hot salsa, refried beans, smothered in cheese, then topped with sour cream and guacamole.

If you don't buy it, you can't eat it. I know it sounds simple, but it worked for me. If I don't keep doritos (the worst culprit for me) or whatever in the house, I can't gorge myself when I get tempted.

Consider yourself lucky. People comment on my weight loss all the time in quite invasive ways and it pisses me off. It's none of their business. And the amount of comments I get about "starving myself to lose weight" are highly offensive and make me incredibly angry. I am NOT starving myself. I eat a normal diet, with…

Tin of tuna (in springwater - NOT OIL), sliced fresh tomato, load on to fresh bread and dust with freshly ground pepper. That is all.

While I'm kind of on board with the "perhaps you should consider moving out" thing, I know it's not always realistic. Some practical advice? If you can't do much about your nutrition situation at home due to financial circumstances, then try exercising more to make up for it?

About $100-150 a week - but I live in Australia and everything's expensive here. And that doesn't include eating out, that's just from the grocery store. I buy fresh fruit and salad and fresh bread from the bakery more or less every day. Between that and the low fat/low carb groceries I buy, it adds up very quickly.
-
I'm pretty sure I would die if I tried to restrict my carbs! And I've managed to hit my target weight pretty easily. I like bread - I eat it every day. That's not going to change. So long as everything fits within my calorie goal, I'm not too fussed about the breakdown of macros.

"It's too hot". We're in the middle of a heatwave - legitimately. And it zaps me of any energy, and working out just gives me a headache right now. I'm going swimming at the local pool instead. Doesn't burn anywhere near as many calories as my usual gym session, but ugh...I just really have no motivation for it in this…

4.5-5.5 hours a day? Unless you're a professional athlete, that's extreme overkill. You're more likely to injure yourself from over-exercise if you go that long. I do 1.5-2 hours a day and that's already at the upper limit of what most trainers would recommend. And that's only because I do competitive sport training and…

I pay for the gym, it gives me more motivation to get off my *kitten* so that I'm not wasting money. Also, the gym has much more equipment for me to use and I can get a more well-rounded workout than anything I could get at home.

I counter emotional eating by beating the crap out of a punching bag. It's a much better outlet for me and I tend to feel better afterwards anyway. Bored eating I either go for a stick of gum or ice cold water (for some reason room temperature or slightly cool water just doesn't fix it for me).

Only for long term (>2 years) useage. It decreases your bone density which can lead to oesteoporosis later on. On doctor's orders I take 2 Caltrate tablets a day to deal with it. My bone density still isn't ideal after 16 years of depo use, but it's better than it was and my doctor was happy with the improvement.

I've been on it for almost 16 years, since I was 16 years old. It works for me without any hassles. I get a very small weight gain the day or two after I get my shot, but that's it - and I lose it again just as quickly. And having been on it for so long, it does have an effect on my bone density, so I have to take daily…

The big mushrooms I stuff with low fat ricotta and pinenuts and then grill. Smaller mushrooms I slice up and use as a homemade pizza topping, or use a jar of hot tikka masala sauce to make a mushroom curry.

Eating whatever I wanted because I could. As a teenager and into my early 20's, I was part of an elite athletes program. I trained 3-4 hours a day before and after school/university classes and competed at a national level. I never once thought about what I ate because I did so much training that it didn't ever matter. If…

1 diced fresh peach OR small green apple 175g low fat vanilla yogurt 20g Swiss museli Mix in bowl. Eat. Rejoice! 175 calories.

Absolutely. However I don't drink water before or during my workout. Makes me feel sick. However I down a good 2 litres of water afterwards! Whatever works for you.
-
Yes. I've done this just to check - weighed immediately before workout and immediately after. I can easily fluctuate 2-3 lbs over the course of an intense 1 hour cardio session at the gym. Presumably just from sweating it out. With regards to the OP - I always weigh myself after exercise. I'm consistent about it though - I…
