Every two or three days, first thing in the morning right after I get off the throne. I'm trying to avoid becoming obsessed with weight and focus more on how I feel and how my clothes fit. Should probably get out the tape-measure instead of the scale.

Depends on the salad. If it's mostly veggies and greens, no. If it's a "chef salad" with cheese and chicken, probably it will do. A caesar salad is certainly filling, but probably not nearly as good for me. The above is purely my opinion, and YMMV.

I think "I don't NEED this. I only WANT it." So the can sits unopened and I look at it and grin. ETA: Nothing wrong with diet sodas per se, but the sodium plays havoc with my blood pressure.

I make my own granola in the crockpot. Exact amounts of ingredients will depend on size of crockpot and personal taste. Rolled oats (can use quick cook or regular) Finely chopped nuts (I use a mix of almonds and walnuts) Raisons Chopped pitted dates Olive oil Fill crockpot half full of oats. I used to drink 2 or 3 non-diet sodas a day - and I put on a lot of weight. When I switched to diet soda, I was able to shed SOME of it (but not all). I don't think sodapop of any kind is good for us, but I don't think diet is nearly as bad as the OP makes it sound.
