I preffer the elliptical. No impact on the knees. I can workout for about 2 hrs straight, while if I run, my knees can't take more than an hr. I have an elliptical with an incline, so you can have a heavier workout and pump your heart rate higher.

I was able to do BIU with hubby AGAIN today!!! PLUS my elliptical and some tennis (doubles). I had joined a calorie challenge and exceeded it by about 700 cals!!!! Get a heart rate monitor. You can wear it all day for a few days so you can know exactly how many calories you burn strength training, sitting down, working out and brushing your teeth... It's based on your sex, height, age, weight and heart beats. Nothing more accurate than that!

It happens to me when he's gone because I don't sit down to have an actual, healthy meal. Try sitting down and have a good, healthy meal with your kids, chew slowly and try to exercise more whenever you get a chance. If you're lonely, hit the gym not the fridge!
