I made a salad with fresh broccoli, finely diced sweet onion, feta cheese, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. S&P, too, of course. Refrigerate overnight so the vinegar can just slightly soften the broccoli. Yum, yum.

We've been making these lately - but the cream cheese version. If you leave out the sweetener, it makes for an awesome sandwich. Google "oopsies" for the original recipe. There is also another version called Floopsies where you don't bother separating the eggs and it still comes out good - just not quite as puffy. We'll…

C-section belly is not quite the same thing as just belly fat. Things just don't sit the same - even on some very trim women with very little body fat because of the way the muscles were cut. OP - thanks for the link; I have also had two C-section babies and would LOVE to flatten this out. Best of luck to you!!

Good for you for eliminating unneeded chemicals from your diet! I have personally learned to drink my coffee black, but if you can't take it that way, just add a teaspoon of sugar and log it in. Stevia comes from a plant so it's not a chemical; now depending on the brand, I suppose they can add whatever they want to it…

I started the 17 day diet on Monday, 1/13. So far, no problems. I haven't been hungry until it's time for a snack or lunch or dinner. I haven't read the whole book yet, but from what I've read of cycles 1 and 2, it really does sound like it is designed to help you learn how to eat as you work your way back to eating kind…

This is what I'm making tonight; use a little extra broth or water and it's a great soup. Originally a Southern Living recipe. http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/red-lentils-10000001842426/

Wow - reading your journey was like reading about myself. I have all of those same issues and have been struggling to get things under control. Thank you so much for posting your story as inspiration for those of us still fighting these demons. I hope that one day I'll be able to write a success story. Congrats to you!!

Bump - love salads!!

Men can be very stupid and try to give compliments which kind of come off as insults. A few years ago I had lost a lot of weight and looked pretty good; we were in a crowded room and when I walked up to my hubby he said "You looked so good, I didn't think it was you." WTF????? Aim to please yourself.

Their little sourdough loaf is WONDERFUL! Good prices on nuts and dried fruits, too.

A-MAY-ZING! You are awesome!!!!

I used to be a big sweet tea drinker; then I started going half and half when I'd go out and making it with gradually less sugar at home. Now my preference is unsweetened tea. Regular black tea unsweetened is fine, but my absolute favorite is the Celestial Seasonings Sweet Coconut Thai Chai tea made iced. It's unsweetened,…

Fantastic! Keep up the good work! I'm wearing loose 18's at the moment, but 16's are too small still. Sooner or later . . . so long as I get there!!

On a sandwich or wrap, sometimes I'll spread a laughing cow cheese wedge. It adds a nice little zing for only 35 calories.

Herr's Ragin' Ranch chips and Doritos. If they're in the house, they don't last long. I also have a very hard time with Nutella - I can have it in the house, but every time I open it, it's a struggle to not just grab a spoon and finish off the entire container. Pretty much anything else, I can content myself with a little…

How very wonderful!!! I'm certainly inspired. The only thing I have making it hard for me to lose weight is my own laziness!! To overcome a health hurdle and make such a wonderful positive change - phenomenal!! Great job!!

Great job!

Way to go!!!

That made me laugh! I'm looking for new ways to have healthy fruits and veggies. Not so much a cheat - just satisfying a craving with a healthier option where a good one exists.

That banana chocolate pudding sounds great! I'm definitely trying that.
