A couple of things I have done that work fine. They do look 'different'. Not real fashionable. Hiking gaiters. You can get short ones. Double top socks. The inner layer is the sock. The outer layer folds down over the top of your shoe. Kinda' hard to explain with out a picture. I'm sure google can help there.

There is one thing that has not been mentioned here. The people who say unless you have a medical condition you don't need to limit sugar Well ok, but....... Sugar has calories. Sugar is not a nutrient. It contains no nutrition. Referred to as 'empty' calories A teaspoon of it has about 17 calories. 10 spoons like that a…

I'm coming in to join. I'm a special needs Grandma. I parent my granddaughter about half the time. She has Phaelan-McDermid Syndrome. Basically a gene deletion in chromosome 22. She's 11 but depending on the day and what etc etc (you all know) she's between 3 and 7. She has major speech and processing delays. She'll never…

Sugar is not required. Our bodies do not require us to eat sugar. It's not a macronutrient . It's not any kind of nutrient. Sugar has no nutrition. The macros are .... Protein ... Fat ....Carbs. Carbs turns to glucose during the digestive process. That is how we get our 'sugar'. That is why we need to eat complex carbs.…

Never buy drinks. Except milk. They don't fill you up. But they do add calories. They are not cost efficient. I pay $40 a week for groceries. I get everything. I need. And don't live on generic brands. I buy no convenience food. Nothing pre-made. Pre-cut. Cheese strings are a ridiculous price compared with cheese by the…

Ha! I knew it belle. I knew if someone did it would be you :) Yeah 25 % Supers .... 25 % Nons. The rest somewhere in the middle. No two are alike either. There are patterns. But no one size fits all.

to .... My Chocolate There is! 25 % of the population is known as non-tasters or un-tasters. Google has lots of info. It can take a while sometimes to get through the junk science. Differences cover a broad spectrum. Supers have excess taste-buds. Non's have fewer. to Beachginger. That would be a benefit! Lucky you. Mostly…

Yes I guess I did say bitter 'area' Mostly the tongue is still referred to as having areas. You were right to point out this is not so. Taste buds are not set up in areas. There are receptors for each flavour all over the tongue. 25 % of the population has an over abundance of them. More than half my relatives have this…

It's only one day. I can do anything for one day. *Repeat Daily*

An hour is an hour. A km is a km. If you do more kms an hour you burn more calories. Because you've gone more kms.

Where I live the majority of women wear runners, yoga pants, a tank or tee and a hoodie. Guys wear runners, jeans, tees and hoodies. We 'dress' when we need to. But other than that. Nope. And before anyone asks. It's not an economically depressed area. It's just what people wear as casual clothes.

Win - Win.. Muscle does Not weigh more than fat. A pound, is a pound, is a pound, is a pound. It doesn't matter what that pound consists of Pound per pound muscle is Smaller than fat. You are (happily) no doubt losing fat and gaining muscle.

I never accept The ones who 'friend' but leave no information. And their profile says ' I haven't filled this in yet'. Uh? Ok And really what is the purpose of a…

Everything everyone else has said. It's all there. Plus. Over striding can be a major problem. Also running on too hard a surface.

That is perfect! I have never heard of a Whoosh! That explains what happened to me this week. I weigh daily (bad idea) But log it weekly. All week it stayed the same. No change in routine, habits, diet, exercise Etc. Then weigh in day Bam! Minus FOUR pounds. Overnight! What The ??? Not complaining. Thanks for the…

Thanks for posting this. You really put a lot of thought into it. Baring your soul isn't easy. Helping others earns you Big Karma. I've been there done that more times than i even want to think about. For reasons I don't even want to think about. The MFP poster of the Day Award is in your hands. \Cheers! ..... gramacanada

A month long jungle hike in South America. Machu Picchu .... Galapagos .... Easter Island. All camping out! September 2014.......

If you have your activity level set as sedentary then yes, cleaning is over and above that. Remember as with food counts, exercises you look for in the data base have been added by members. MFP staff do not add these foods or exercises. There is no standard. So very many times food counts are WAY off. Exercise counts…

None. A mile is a mile is a mile. As long as there is some effort being put into it. Any study I have read or heard about says walking or running a mile uses 'about' 100 calories. I haven't figured out why running equals. I keep thinking all that heavy breathing and chest heaving ought to be burning more, but apparently…

It's long haul fluctuations that count. If you change your weight as it varies daily. You'll be recording ups as well. That might be disheartening. P.S. Google says the average dump is about 8 ounces. half pound. So if you were carrying 2 pounds of it? Yikes! : )
-
Google it. It's quite common. And there are lots of reasons for it. Fairly often it doesn't require medical intervention or orthotics.

Your 1400 intake calories per day doesn't change unless you manually change it in your settings or goals. Not logging exercise is no problem. As long as you don't do so much that you're hungry. Then you probably ought to log so you know how much to increase calories by. If you're only doing 10 minutes a couple of times a…

Quite a few people don't 'like' veggies because they take some prep time. Lack of know how or just lazy (me) whatever the reasons. Look up Jessica Seinfeld's cookbook Deceptively Delicious. It is mostly about how to prepare and hide veggies almost anywhere. And only the cook knows they're there. As for dressings. The…

I don't use oil at all. A heavy duty stainless steel pan. Medium heat, or just under. I just shake the pan to keep it loose. If necessary I add in a couple of table spoons of water. It keeps the side being seared from drying out. You pretty much can't leave it alone until the searing is done. It doesn't take long really.…

Thanks I looked. Sent you a P.M. : )

It's impossible to answer questions about how you can cut down on sugar and sodium when your diary is not open. No on can suggest anything if they don't know what it is you're eating. : )
