Last night was workout A for me Squat @ 120lbs 5x5 Not going to lie, I don't mind that I had to deload. Gives me a chance to work on my form. Bench @ 90lbs 3,2,1,1,1 Man, it just felt…

I am terrible with keeping up with this thread! But it sounds like there's been some drinking and some engagements and some new programs being started! Congrats to all of you (including you hungover ones... im jelly). Last night I did workout B Squat 135lbs 4,5,5,5,5 Honestly, I blame the first fail on my cat. She was…

While you're here... can you share some resources about nutrition timing? I was always under the impression that it doesn't matter when you eat . I never time my food. I just eat. I always lift in the evening (8-9ish) and my last meal is always around 5:30. I never eat afterwards. Does that effect lifts?

I'm 5'2 and I swear it is my downfall! If I was 6 ft I could all the things!!! Please update us on your next steps and how it goes! :flowerforyou:

I would love to see how this progresses and what you finally decide to do. Just curious, how tall are you?

Wow ladies! You guys are killing it with the weight! My weekend was jam packed so I didn't manage to get a lift in as I had intended. I did manage to squeeze in a workout on Friday night though. I did a video from fitnessblender and half way through, I realized I had clicked the wrong video. I did 25 minutes of abs hoping…

Welcome! I am not uber active here but I can tell you there is a wealth of knowledge and some really great folks! I will try and answer the questions I have knowledge on. Personally, form. I really really am afraid of getting hurt, so I would rather just stay at a lower weight until it feels "right". One warm up that I do…

Same here. I deloaded from 115 to 90lbs (I think something around there) a while ago because my squat form was horrendous. Sometimes when I take a break for a week or get busy, I will just stay at the weight I did last instead of moving up. I would rather make sure I have perfect form on everything then move up in weight.

1. What is the benefit to Stronglifts 5X5 vs Crossfit, other prograns? What made you pick Stronglifts? I loved the idea of crossfit. I follow a couple bloggers who are into it and occasionally watch the games but in the end, I couldn't fork over 150 bucks a month to be part of a box. In additional to that, I am afraid of…

I am going to say the same thing I told my 8 year old daughter when she decided she wanted to become a vegetarian. I respect your choice to do that, but be aware that not everyone will. Don't go around trying to change anyone else's beliefs. But, if someone asks you about it, you should feel confident enough to back up…

This really effects me A LOT! Last week right before my TOM, I was so EXHAUSTED that I took the week off working out and went to bed at 8.

I started SL the last week of January and I haven't really seen any changes on the scale. I suck at taking measurements so I haven't really been able to track that well enough either. I did take pictures though and have seen quite a change in my mid section and arms.... well actually everything. My but is perkier, my legs…

I haven't posted to the workout thread all month. Life has just been so busy. Last night's lift went pretty good. Squat @ 125lb 5,5,4,5,5, After I failed on the third set, I decided to lower the bar on the stand so I don't have to put so much effort into taking it off the rack. That really helped out. Bench @ 80lbs 5x5 I…

Since I work out at home, I don't have to worry about people stealing things from my locker. But I do have to worry about leaving my water in plain sight because my husband comes and drinks it all while I'm working out.... :grumble:

 I have seriously been craving a nice thick creamy cheesecake lately....

OMG that is my sad face when I read those too!!! There was a post a while back from a woman who was my height (5'2) and did SL three times a week and I think it was elliptical twice (I could be totally off but I know it wasn't any excessive amount of activity). She said she ate 2000 calories every day and was losing a lb a…

I actually was having a lot of low back pain in my last few lifts. I realized that it was due to my squats though. I was trying to suck my stomach in while squatting because I thought that was how you were supposed to use them. Now I PUSH my belly out and I found that has helped a lot. I also do some stretches afterwards.…

So I started pretty weak with the OHP. I am currently only at 55lbs. Yesterday I felt that I had my strongest lift and what I changed was how FIRMLY I grabbed the bar. I really gripped it like it was a life and death matter. I am not sure why, but I felt that it really helped bring strength to my lift.

And I completely agree with that.... but I also believe that some people feel that they don't have control with certain foods. Learning to control yourself would be the best option, but for some just cutting it out completely is the only way. I am not a cut out person (chocolate errrrydayyy :glasses: ) but my bestfriend…

How is she wrong? She isn't saying that this is the ONLY way to lose weight. From my understanding (maybe I am the wrong one here) she is saying it is the only way SHE has found success. Some people can have 1-2-3 glasses of wine and can go on for days/months/weeks without craving or going into a binge. Others don't allow…

I tried doing the TDEE -20% when I first started SL, but I didn't have success with the method because well.... I just love to eat. At that time, I would log 1 calorie burnt per lift. I am going back to my old method and wore my heart rate monitor last week on a lift. My results were about 230 calories burnt in 60 minutes…

Thank you all so much for your comments and feedback. I am proud of how far I have come, but I can't help but wanting to wear a bikini one day lol. It sounds like this is a common feeling though. I think I am going to try and get back on just focusing on calories in and out and maybe once I have success with that again, I…

woohoo!!! That's awesome! I am also in the market for a new job. My commute is killing me!!!!

I honestly look like a hobo everyday I go to work. I really should invest in a real lunch bag :indifferent:

We use a lot of dry cottage cheese in recipes . There is a brand called western that is around 100 calories for 110 grams of cheese which has 22 grams of protein. We put it on tacos, pastas, salads, eggs. I also love tofurky chorizo. I find that it is pretty high in fat, but it so so yummy! I also try and make some cookies…

@anna sorry about your loss. This weekend was cardio weekend. Hit the elliptical for a couple hours. My lift today felt like crap. Squat 5x5 at 90 I feel like 90lbs isn't heavy but my freakin wrists hurt. I just can't manage to get the right position! I just feel like my arms are too short or I just can't pull my arms far…

MFP has it right. There is more of you to sustain, so your body can still lose while eating 1990 calories. And yes, you can eat some of your exercise calories back (some people eat them all, some people eat half ect). As you lose more weight, the amount of calories you can eat becomes lower.
