>> I did go walking the next day (Tuesday) and again yesterday... Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? I know, be strong, don't let the haters get you down, etc. but, as most of you will be able to agree with, this is hard enough on it's own, why the F do people, and I use this term loosely, have to try…

And I think what he means by experiment with a foam roller is, don't run with it like you're in a light saber fight, but use it to lay down on AFTER your run. Essentially, you'll be on your back, rolling your hamstrings against the foam. :)

5' 10" and currently 150-152, depending on the day or TOM. When I had the guts to finally weigh myself after a few years of avoiding the scale, I was 168. That started it for me in late May. (My heaviest was 209.) My goal was/is 140, but it will all depend upon muscle mass. I've only just started my weight training journey…

kick *kitten*!!! :)

um. . . . sorry, is this a real question? >>Why do you all of a sudden drop all the fat off your body at once! << That would mean that she would have to have dropped her weight into the toilet that morning or cut off a limb.

AMEN. And huge hugs. Again, I will say that most of us have either been in your shoes in some way, or we know someone who's been trying to figure out if they should stay or go. You need to figure out what YOU want and stop trying to make him happy. Starting tonight, actually. :) I would open up my own bank account and have…

At 19, you shouldn't be paying your hard working dollars for his ex-wife's alimony. Nuff said. What happened to student loans? If you're working to pay his, they exist. He's a bullsheeter and I suggest you move on. tough love, Katey

You are biking! In a dress and awesome tights and you're confident! What's more to say!? Congrats. :) So cute.

Also, to test if the egg is done, spin it on the counter. If it spins, it's done. If it wobbles, there's runny yolk.

This must be restated because it's hilarious. Thank you!

I heard a nice story on high-glycemic versus low-glycemic foods this morning on NPR. Story is here to listen to or read. http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2012/09/10/160757730/low-and-slow-may-be-the-way-to-go-when-it-comes-to-dieting I also read recently that some fruits like pineapple, bananas, and watermelon among others…

Love driving a 5 speed and it's all I've ever known. I'm much more in control when I can downshift without braking. I drive faster and accelerate faster off of a stop light when I'm driving an automatic I noticed. Also, I wouldn't have a toned left leg if i drove an automatic. :)

Funny how this is probably coming from an adult who's fairly insecure about something. He's got his panties in a bunge about what's in your hands while trying to deflect what he's about to shove down his throat. I hear it from teenagers who are insecure about whatever they see or hear, so they gotta assert themselves in…

It all depends. What do you want to spend? Do you get a stipend? Chicago is known for really great restaurants. There are fantastic Italian places where you can get great, healthy fare, fantastic steak joints, fantastic everything down by where Oprah's studios used to be. I'm not a Chicagoan, but visited there recently and…

I just made up my mind that it wouldn't be forever, but that I *would* stop cold turkey. Set it for 30 days, then as 30 days came closer, decided on 45 days. Yes, it was difficult, but for me, I had to do something. And this something meant cutting out all processed sugars for 30 days. It's a nice goal and you'll be better…

I was wondering when this post was going to get all metaphorical. This is getting rich! :) thank you.

As for faceplate, detag that photo or video or whatever. Post the one your hubby took. Camera and video add 10 lbs., or so they say. Congratulate yourself for all the progress you've made. You and the horse. :)

Just doin my part to bring joy to the internets. Truly, though, why not push back at someone who assesses you in that way? I mean, I would and probably with a smile on my face. Then, I'd go in the ladies room and cry. Or eat a fruit pie.

Ask the baristas if they have a nutritional guide. They usually have something behind the counter. Also, did you check the Starbucks website? Most of their stuff is posted. Not sure what country you are in, but they might only post info specific to the US. I found a tuna salad at 380 calories.…

Ditto. You keep moving forward. . . until you get the cute cowgirl belt. :)

<<during the triathlon - 175 pounds >> I'm pretty sure this shot is Daniel Craig. You may want to alert your wife. :) Congrats.

>>I asked another trainer about this and he noted that I have an incredibly large frame for a female (i.e. when I wrap my fingers around my wrist there's about an inch between them).<< And get a third opinion. NO woman likes to hear this. Who's your trainer? I'll come bust his balls. Kidding. I would second the eat more…

I used to do a ton of cycling. I raced a few times too and that is fun and grueling. :) Good for you for wanting to set a big goal. The best thing you can do to improve stamina is to cycle. Again. You should be going on some longer rides like 30 and 40 milers, and if you're riding totally flat, increase your gear. Also, if…

<OP>She's talked about training to do a triathlon together. Maybe I should just focus on that. <OP yup, do that. Get the junk food out of the house, if any, and then constantly praise the positive progress. If you make any mention of say, "um, so are you really going to eat that pop-tart..." she/we get defensive right…

It's because you have actual breasts. I think i may have to get my flat-chested photo of me in a bikini-top and see what happens. I might just get called out for being too pale.

Thanks much. I'm planning on a warm up on the stairmaster or something like it. Then lifting, and I may come back with a report on how "exhausted" I am. :) I need this for weight loss; not muscle strength per se.

Me, please. Wait, Can I drink one glass of red on September 1st? It's a cruise/party/bash/fest thingy and it's one of those times of the year when I'm normally on vacation, so i'm a bit sad. /ending excuses. :)

Victoria, I was at my heaviest around age 20 (I'm 5' 10" and then I was 209 and afraid of the scale). Today I'm in my 40s, really happy and at 150. Some people say that's thin (HA!) ;) I lost weight in my early 20s by doing stuff that was distracting, exercising heavily every weekend, and I guess watching what I ate. I…

So, what's your goal? To have fun and be buzzed and live life to what you think is the fullest, or do you want to lose weight? As a friend of mine says "people ask me how I stopped smoking, and I tell them... I. Just. Stopped. Smoking." So, I look at it as one or the other. You either quit drinking, or you have one drink…

The best one to make is a mix of things till you see what you like. Try romaine lettuce to start with. It's best to stay in the dark green variety as you'll get no benefit from that damn iceberg. Try some dried cranberries, a dozen or two depending upon the size of salad, add some sliced almonds, red onion slices, some…
