I'm starting my student teaching in September! Hoping to be a real teacher soon =) How much do you have to lose?

I think those scales are notoriously inaccurate. I have a hand-held BFP monitor and it went from 24% to 16% in one day. I'd wait and see what the caliper test says.

Sounds really good!

I like them a lot, actually. It's a good way to make a low calorie, filling meal. The best place to get them is at an HMart, Grand Mart or somewhere similar. They're much, much cheaper there than they are at places like Whole Foods or Wegmans. They're always in the cold section (in my experience). If you go to Wegmans or…

Oh don't do it. I know it seems amazing, and you think that you can get used to the taste, but you can't. I ordered a few things, the peanut butter, the chocolate peanut butter, the alfredo sauce, and the apple butter. The apple butter was almost tolerable. The rest was terrible. The peanut butter made me want to gag. It…

I second this. Larabars are amazing.

Have fun! I only lived in NYC for a month, but I don't think you'll have a problem on either account. As I recall, there were tons of grocery stores and fitness places.

Replace desserts with Larabars. They're amazing, and most of them are sugar free. http://www.larabar.com/products/chocolate-coconut-chew#ingredients

I'll have to try it! I still haven't found an exercise that gives me a high yet. I have achieved a runner's okay-I-guess-this-isn't-the-worst-thing-ever feeling, but that's about as euphoric as it's gotten.

I just downloaded that to my Kindle this morning! And then left my Kindle at home when I went to the gym...but looking forward to starting tomorrow! Hope it goes well for you.

I'm not new, but I am looking forward to trying new things with the new people. Like I'm slightly intimidated by the free weights section. My gym is inexpensive and in a low income area, so there's a bit of a rough crowd that's usually in that section, but now there will be tons of other people who are beginners so I won't…

hah! I've done these zombie tag games in the city I live near, and if running from bears is anything like running from "zombies", not long. It's the full out sprinting that you have to do to stay alive that kills me. I can run slow and steady for a long time, but being chased is a whole other ballgame. So if the bear would…

One delicious way to use them is in oatmeal. I combine: 1/3 cup steel cut oatmeal water or milk random amount of greek yogurt chia seeds stevia I refrigerate it overnight and it's delicious, cold oatmeal. The chia seeds thicken it. I don't use exact measurements, maybe a tablespoon or so of chia seeds. Sometimes I'll add…

I have the opposite problem of some people. I've been thin for most of my life, and even when my jeans stop fitting, when the Me-ality body scanner machine tells me I'm a size 10, when I see the scale hit higher and higher numbers, I still think I'm thin. It's not a positive mindset though--It keeps me from getting really…

Sorry guys, I should have clarified. It's not soreness of the muscles, it's more like bruising. Thanks for the information!

Have fun! I really like it. Don't be discouraged if you can't do everything the way they do it in the video. I've done Month 1 twice and am in fairly decent shape, and I still have to water down some of the moves a bit in order to not go into cardiac arrest.

If you like biographies, I really liked Rob Lowe's audiobook. He reads it, and it's pretty interesting. He totally glosses over the sex scandal, but still a good read. I'm less impressed with Steven Tyler's audiobook. He goes off on these weird, random tangents. The whole thing is extremely disjointed. It's like being on…

A bit off topic, but are those the gold/linen shorts from Express? I love them.

I think it's pretty clear that mbrocksocks wasn't referring to your post or the other similarly helpful, insightful posts, but rather the ones that just acted disgusted by the article she posted.

I live on the bottom floor underneath a family with five young kids. I used to get irate about all the noise, but then I got to know the kids, bought some earplugs for when it's really ridiculous, and got over it. I'd suggest getting to know them a bit and telling them about your workouts. I think they'll be a lot less…

I read this the other day...I'm sorry you can relate so closely to it =/

I don't see how you could have ever been the ugly one, you're too pretty, but you look absolutely amazing now!

I don't know how true this is, but I thought it was interesting view. http://www.mindbodytrainingcommunity.com/2011/09/05/can-aerobic-exercise-be-counter-productive/

I had the same problem. I had acne from the time I was 12 until I was 25, and I realized I was never going to "grow out of it". I had been to many dermatologists/tried several things that had varying degrees of failure. Finally I went on Accutane, which was a pain. You have to do monthly check ups and get blood drawn to…

Wow, it took me most of the morning to read through that, but it was really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

I wouldn't use Adderall for either, unless for some reason a doctor perscribes it. In my experience, it does initially suppress your appetite and give you a sense of euphoria, but that euphoria fades to happiness, to general contentment, and then flat lines your emotions, trapping you in this low, droning state of…
