I just joined this group. I lift at the gym with machines but have not yet ventured into the free weights section yet. Its not that I'm afraid or intimidated, I just need a routine. I will look into jenring3's suggestions to get some ideas and guidance. I am sorda at maintenance. I could lose a few more pounds but that is…

There are so many different opinions about the Paleo lifestyle. It is just that - a lifestyle. It is not a diet in that you start and then once you achieve your weight loss goals you go off of it. I use the term "diet" to mean "what I consume." I started out eating "clean" and with that and a lot of research I realized my…

I am 51 today! Add me! :)

I'll send you a FR. Staying accountable works! Welcome back.

I am 5' 10 which I guess would seem short to someone of your stature but I tower over everyone I know! I would love a tall statuesque friend! Add me if you'd like. What is B.E.D.?

I am 5'10" SW 178 CW 178 (just starting) GW 158 (for now) All tall ladies can add me too!

Check out the group StrongLifts for women (on here.) I would link you to them but I would have to go look for it and I probably wouldn't find you again so up at the top click on groups and then search. I think you'll love the StrongLifts workout plan. Good Luck!

That's awesome that your 5 year old is exercising with you! Great habit to start young!

I usually purchase 80/20 ground beef but after I brown (if browning it for like taco meat, crumbled) I drain it in a colander and then rinse it and put it back in the pan to seer the water off and continue browning for a minute or so. That does remove SOME additional fat. I don't typically fear fat myself but I have to…

Call them and tell them you are getting ready to switch to dish and it will only cost you "xxxx" amount. They will match it or beat it to keep you on. I like WendyTerry's idea too!

You will soon forget the pain and I'd put money on you doing it again next year! It's like childbirth. If we remembered the pain NO ONE would have more than 1. What an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations!

I don't use the IIFYM as a rule but I will consider it sometimes when contemplating if I should eat a certain thing, or not. The reason I don't use it specifically is this. I feel that I can eat MORE nutrient dense food than trying to fit something not quite so healthy into my daily meal plan. Example: my lunch today is a…

Exactly the two I thought of first!

Like others have said, don't track sugar, track sodium instead. Sodium will derail your efforts for sure if you're not watching them.

I usually weigh in the morning, after I've used the restroom, before I consume anything, naked AND the morning after a rest (no exercise) day. The morning after a rest day so that my muscles aren't retaining water from heavy lifting. The other reasons are pretty self explanatory.

I don't know your age and I don't know your weight goal. Also can't see your diary to see what quality of foods you are eating BUT I ran a generic BMR & TDEE based on the info you did provide and I used the age 25 and based on the assumed age your activity level, your BMR is 1260 and TDEE is 2174.00 That is 2174 calories…

Make sure you eat a balanced dinner with protein, carbs (veggies!!!) and good fats. Why do you not want to eat in the evenings? That's when I have my biggest meal.

This is exactly what I was getting ready to suggest (and yes based on your diary.) If you can [do the above] and keep your sodium down there should no doubt you will see results in a months time. Also remember, juice has lots of added sugar. Maybe eat a real orange which is natural sugar and drink more water. I believe…

Just the fact that it is still around after 3 years (and not spoiled) should be enough to NOT eat it. It's chemicals and fake and should not even be classified as "food." I agree with another poster that if he needs it as a jumping on point to lose weight and then can transition into learning how to eat real food. It is…

Dang cant get it to work from my tablet. Must try from my laptop after dinner.

1) Stick to my SL routine 3x per week. Into my 4th consecutive week. And move up in weight! 2) Add in 2x per week - Kickboxing or something like that for cardio. 3) Come up with some great summer meals that fit into my macros and budget. 4) Get over my mental block with squats. 5) Work on pushups 6) Be more active in the…

Hi tracieangelet, It helped me a great deal to watch the creator of SL 5x5 himself perform his workouts. Each link is exactly what he does for his whole routine. Each about 30 minutes long. It might help eliminate that FEAR of not knowing what to do. Workout A link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP2g3Sj3qSw Workout B link…
