Yes. Try 1700 and see how it goes, then adjust accordingly. You can manually set your calorie goal in the settings. Or, change your goal to lose 1 pound a week and see what it gives you.

Try it and keep us posted

I’m going to make a crazy suggestion. How about you focus on maintaining your weight for now. Just stop and don’t gain any more. Then, when you’re ready, take the leap. Listen to the podcast Half Size Me.

Keto and calorie counting are not one in the same. They are very, very different concepts that may or may not get you to the same place.
-
Another rule of thumb, outside of BMI, is 100# at 5 feet, and add 5# for every inch over. So 125 for you.

I love wine.

125

Wait a minute....they still make Mars bars?
-
@purple4sure05 can’t speak for others, but yes. For the last 5# or so, my deficit was about 250 cals. So I literally added an Apple and serving of peanut butter to get myself to maintenance
-
I got down to within a few # of the bottom (5-7”/120–bottom of BMI is 118). I liked it, looked healthy, but could only hang in that low for a few months. Now sitting at BMI of 21 trying for 19 (125#).

Well done.

Great approach. You can always pick a month or two here and there to drop your calories if you want to kick it up a notch. FYI - at 5-7” and 135, my maintenance is closer to 2100.
-
This is a very touching story. You are a resilient and strong woman. I’m proud of you.
-
I get panned for saying this, but it’s true. Maintaining is the same as dieting, but with a handful more calories. Like an Apple and a serving of peanut butter. Ramp up your calories slowly and you’ll know when you get there. I’m 5-7” and active and maintain at 2100.
-
Great job. For many of us, the weight comes off all over and you get proportionately smaller, so it’s harder to see.
-
Use the middle of the BMI chart and take it from there. I’m 5-7, and I’m good with 145, but looked best at 125. Headed back there.
-
Watch the movie Forks Over Knives.
-
145 (5-7”) = 6 135 = 4 125 = 2

I find the chart at the bottom of this page helpful for a quick reference: https://www.lasting-weight-loss.com/calories-in-vegetables.html

At 5-7” and 125# I’m a size 2, at 135# I’m a size 4. Medium build, 32C and a rounder butt,

I’ve been WFPB and am happy to help. If you have specific questions, just DM me. I did mountains of research, and can most likely point you in the right direction.

It’s brutal, and I’m sorry. I love the idea of walking a neighbors dog. Especially a senior that might really appreciate the help getting their dog some quality walks. And I’m glad to hear that you’re helping at the shelter, those poor critters can use all the love you can give.
-
It WILL get better, and probably pretty quick if you stick to it. Give it 2 weeks. It helped me to walk and listen to long podcasts, like Rich Roll. Drink lots of water and get lots of sleep. One day soon you’ll wake up feeling great and clear headed and it will get easier. I promise.

This has happened to me in the past, but not with the most recent update. But something bad must have happened since they had 2 updates within 24 hours. Did you turn everything off and back on? Delete app and reload?

GO @cheryldumais. We started (me for the second time) at the same time. I just LOVE seeing the same names and faces year after year. It goes to show that hard work and being active in a like-minded community are two important assets in weight loss. My hats off to you. ETA: look at the number of posts made by the members of…

It broke my heart, but I had to let it go, except on special occasions. I drink two glasses max a few times a month.

Welcome and congratulations! Keep doing exactly what you’ve been doing, but with a few more calories. Simple as that.
