I run the same 5k every year. Started at 45 mins, then shaved off 5 mins a year. The past two years have been exactly 30 mins and this year I’m training to hit 27 mins.

I don’t track, but I drink coffee, green tea and probably 100oz of water (usually with an electrolyte tab). I also eat tons of fruits and vegetables with high water content. Never pop, juice or milk.

What’s dirty Keto?

Same boat as @spiriteagle99 in that it’s a schedule thing. My work days are jammed, so I schedule in lunch at noon. Then hubs wants to have supper together around 7. But I love the idea.

I usually weigh my portion and used the entry for cooked ________ (insert food name).

I’m am a volume eater AND a binge eater and believe the two to be quite different in the area of intention. So if I intend to eat an entire head of broccoli and a few sweet potatoes, that’s a volume meal. A binge would be an entire box of Kind Bars, when I intended to eat one.

That is a simply stunning accomplishment. The act of maintaining is easy, the implementation can be difficult. If you are super goal driven, it truly does help to work towards something else in the fitness arena for example a half marathon, strength goals or a solid meditation practice are a few ideas.

@jan110144 I think we must be related! OP - whatever you do, keep getting on the scale every day (or whatever your schedule is). Stopping weighing is the easiest way I know for things to go sideways. Other than that, keep doing what you were doing to lose weight, but with a few more calories.

Thank you @middlehaitch. The very reason I love MFP is watching my experienced peers give and accept advice over years and years and years. I vividly recall being an MFP freshman back in 2012, and not being open to many ideas shared here. Fast forward — many successes and failures later, I’ve more or less figured out what…

Best quote ever @glassyo “When counting calories, you do what you have to to stay on track and try not to be psycho about it in the process. “

It wasn’t intentional, but I saved tons of money while losing weight. I used to eat out pretty much every night, which included several glasses of wine. Our typical tab was $100 a night. Now I cook and rarely drink. Paid off 2 cars and padded the savings account along the way.

Look at your shoulders! Holy crap there’s hope for all of us!

How long in maintenance: 3 years Goal maintenance range: 125-135, 5-7” Current weight: 145 Current goal: for my shorts to fit Recent success: hit weekly deficit goal last week Strategy for your goal: stop eating crap processed vegan food

I’ll tell you exactly what happened to me. I treated weight loss as a “project”. I had laser focus and full commitment and lost 75#. Project done, move on to the next. It took a year to lose and a year to gain back. That was 2012. In 2016 I started again, lost the same 75#, in a year, and have been battling ever since to…

Some of us lose weight proportionally from everywhere, so it’s less dramatic. ETA - the more you lose, the less # between sizes. For example it could be 10# to go from 12 to 10, and 5# to go from 6 to 4.
-
OP, technically, what you describe is homeostasis. You are in balance. Set Point is like a thermostat, that kicks in to bring you back to your body’s “preferred” weight. I believe in the first and not the latter. Subtle difference, I know.

I’m shocked and thrilled for you @pkweier that your hubs would even acknowledge the challenge. I’m proud that he’s proud. You’re lucky!!

Hey @zeejane4 curious about the transition from plants to low carb? Are you adding animal products back? Generally, how do you feel?

@jflongo I’m glad your markers have improved and it Sounds like you enjoy this WOE. Cautionary tale, I went WFPB over a year ago and had (literally) perfect blood work and felt great. Eventually, I let vegan junk food creep in and crowd out the beans, tempeh and other protein sources. By December, I could barely get the…
