  • Feel free to add me too, if you don't mind a shorty! I'm 5'2" and weigh 191, currently down from an all time high of 257. My goal weight is in the 150's; don't ask me a precise number because the last time I was in that range, I was in middle school! I'd love to have more friends to keep me accountable!
  • Happy to join your group. I started down this path almost a year ago. I'm down a little over 70 lbs. (63 on MFP) but I still have 30-50 that I want to lose. Why the range? I don't know where I want to land - I now weigh less than I weighed in high school. The charts show that I should lose 60 more, but that seems a bit…
  • This is a great thread! I'm 70 lbs down, 50 more to go but here we go so far: Rings falling off, I can wear high heels again, No worrying about fitting into a restaurant booth or small airplane seat, seat belts that need to be tightened, smaller shoe size - both width and length (didn't expect this one at all), needed to…
  • Add me! I started yesterday and am loving it. Planning to throw some Focus T25 in too for more cardio. I've dropped 70 lbs, but need to add strength/tone.
  • I'm finishing T25 - really liked it and they have modifiers if you can't keep up with everyone - Tried P90X3 but their modifiers are primarily low impact, not low strength. - Doing Body Beast next 'cause I like weight lifting
  • Hi and welcome! I was sleeved on 4/22 and am down 52 lbs. Did you know that there's a Board just for "us"? Check it out. Every day something seems to get easier. I know that I've got a lot more energy too. It took until 40 lbs or so before I felt that. I'm also on a PPI med for heartburn and will be for the rest of my…
  • Height 5'2" SW:257 CW:205.4 (8/1/14) #1GW 207 (7/14/14) #2GW 199 (first time under 200 since the late '80's!) #3GW 180 #4GW 150 Doctor's LTGW:125 (though probably more like 135-140 given my age) Well, I shot down in flames for July... so time to make this month count. I really want to get under 200 and into onderland!…
  • Age 51 HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? CW - 207 HW-257 GW - 125-150 not sure since the last time I was in this range, I was in my teens. HOW TALL ARE YOU? 5'2" WHEN/HOW DO YOU WORKOUT? I aim for 5 - 6 days a week. I do 40 min of Tai Chi in the morning. In the evening, I do 30-40 minutes of either a low-impact video or my exercise…
  • I was sleeved on 4/22 and have lost around 25 lbs pre and post op. I have had a couple of days where I gained a lb or 2, but they've dropped back off in the next couple of days. Actually my pattern seems to be 2-3 days of plateau followed by a day of loss, repeated. One thing is to make sure that you're not eating too much…
  • I'm getting sleeved on Tuesday and am very excited but also very nervous. I know that next week will be rough, but I'm really hoping it's the start of a new life!
  • Congrats on starting down the path! I was where you are back in October, 5'2" and 251 lbs. Last week I finally got my date scheduled - April 22nd. There are lots of hoops to jump through but it's all worth it. Just take baby steps and feel free to friend me if you want to stay in touch.
  • I just got scheduled for my sleeve on April 22nd and I'm super excited! I've told a few close coworkers what the surgery is, and the rest that I'll just be out for surgery. While I'm not worried about their accepting what I'm doing or not (I really don't care what they think), I just don't think it's everybody's business.…
  • I agree with some of the prior posts. The way to get your family behind you is to lay out, very clearly, the risks of you NOT having the surgery - diabetes, knee replacements, hip replacements, heart disease, heart attacks, high blood pressure, stroke, etc. Be very graphic. Yes, this surgery has risks however, no more than…
  • I'm envious! I'm still 3 months out from my sleeve date - dumb insurance requirements. However, I've have 3 in my family who've had it done. All have said the same thing, use whatever pain killers your doctor prescribes for the first few days. One said sitting straight up was more painful, the other said that laying flat…
  • Thanks so much to everyone who has responded. The stress eating has started to die off, and now it's convenience eating. I've bought chicken and fish to pre-cook this weekend and have been having protein shakes in the meantime when I'm being lazy. I also had a girlfriend step up and offer, if I get approved for earlier…
  • I've got a stretch band that I use to do a quick dozen arm curls, etc. Also, when I get up for anything, I do some stretches and squats. I like the idea of printing to a printer further away. A friend of mine always goes to use the bathroom on a different floor each time.
  • Support Needed!!! I'm 4 months into my 6 month process but.... my husband passed away 2 weeks ago very suddenly. I find myself eating just to have something to do so I don't cry. And it's not good stuff - more like the comfort food (pasta, chips, cookies) that I was making progress getting away from. I'm still planning to…
  • 2nd Dietician appt. done and all's well. I didn't lose any weight but didn't expect to as I wasn't making much in the way of changes. This month I'm going to try to increase the exercise to 150 min/week.
  • Thanks Nick for the feedback. I had my psych eval and it went well. He said that he usually has two meetings but since I seemed really knowledgeable about the surgery and well prepared, he was going to see if he could get the insurance to accept only one meeting. If not, I'll go back to him next week. It seems like a waste…
  • Hi guys, I'm Randi and I just started down the path towards getting sleeved. My insurance requires 6 months of supervised diet/exercise so I'm targeting surgery in late March/early April. I'm going on a cruise in August and really hope that I'll be on a roll by then. The nurses say that I'm the perfect candidate as the…
