  • I just turned 40 last September and while I have been a runner for several years, I decided I wanted to get fitter and faster. 33 pounds down so far, knocking minutes off my times and aiming for a half marathon personal record this fall. I am with you on this, I decided 40 was going to be my best year yet.
  • They ran their first official road race today (5k) and I am thrilled with the fit. I pronate and have had great success with Mizuno Wave Inspire but the new releases keep getting tighter In the toe box. Made a shift to Saucony Guide and so far so good!
  • I've knocked over 5 minutes off my 5k time, seems less mass is easier to move. Who knew, right? I also have all but eliminated shin pain when running. Both are a big deal for me.
  • Sitting at my desk at work in tears. You are a huge inspiration! What you have accomplished is amazing, really honestly amazing. I have multiple sclerosis, and my husband and I recently did a modified version of couch-to-5k. I am now up to 6 miles that I can run without stopping, averaging 11-12 minutes a mile. My end goal…
  • Amazing!!! You've done SO much hard work. :) I like these other ideas, of keeping a picture of the "old you" around or your old pants out.. so you can remember how far you have come. Don't deprive yourself completely through the holidays, or you'll end up binging. I always justify a treat with an extra workout, but I know…

  • I tell, because it helps to hold me accountable. People notice now, and ask about it. Right now I'm dealing with missing my first goal by a few pounds/weeks and I have the support of the people who have been with me so far in my corner telling me not to focus on missing that goal by a little, but to focus on the 36 pounds…
  • That feeling of empowerment is what I feel when I run 6 miles, when I couldn't run to my mailbox 4 months ago. I WANT to have that feeling from weights so badly, because I know I need them. I think it's because the results are slow to build, where with running I instantly started dropping weight. I love that you love it. :)
  • Oh, I'm aware. 100% aware. I just don't LIKE it. (at all). I found something that I really love to do, that also happens to be considered a workout and has helped me shed quite a bit of weight, and now anything else feels like punishment. Which is necessary, I get that. No pain, right? :)
  • I think I would rather chew glass than do any other exercise besides running (I kid. Mostly.). I need to do a TON of toning and strengthening.. I am flappy and weak. But I cannot get into it like I can the running. It's done wonders for my legs, but the rest of me is in dire need of help. I keep reading all of these posts…
