I didn't set a time frame for myself. I want to lose it slowly and steadily and keep it off. I have no idea how long that will take. My inital goal is to get down 30 pounds and my second goal is to drop another 20. I'm not sure how long the total 50 will take.

I weigh very rarely. I don't own a scale. I have a Wii Fit so I could weigh there, but choose not to. I just check when I'm visiting my parents or in-laws. I haven't weighed for about a month now. Just don't want to obsess over the number. I can tell I have lost.

I told DH I wanted to start eating healthier and exercising. He chose to join MFP with me and logs his food. I do a majority of the cooking and food preparation so that is half the battle. I really like Chocolove dark chocolate bar with almonds and sea salt. 1/3 of the bar is 159 calories. It's a splurge, but once in a while it isn't bad.

OP I would advise keeping some almonds in your purse and sneaking them. LOL. Have some protein for breakfast - eggs, avocado, nuts....

If we are talking about the instant ramen - way too much sodium for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved it when I was younger. But it definitely would make me retain water and feel like a cow.

I get this all the time and I have hardly lost anything. I feel like many people are expecting me to fail. Or they want me to fail so they won't feel the need to reevaluate their health. It is what it is. I just ignore it.

I'd like to hear from someone who has PERSONALLY had a positive experience with either. I have yet to meet someone (who isn't paid) who thinks a product works better than good ole diet and exercise.

I feel the same in regard to having time to workout. I'm a SAHM. It's hard. But I have to remind myself that activity is activity. Personally I try to watch my sodium intake. This for me means avoiding that type of stuff as they are generally high in sodium. Also, I like my water plain. I don't think there is anything wrong with them, just not for me.
