I'm not sure that this will help or mean anything but I've noticed for myself if I keep my soduim under 1500 mg, 8-12 cups of water the number's are always less when I at the completion of my log. I have high blood pressure & I struggle with keeping my sodium at or under 1500 mg.

Today is a rest day. The month of April will be thrown off by my fiance's work schedule. This will be the month where I'll be working out 3-4 days 30-120 mins a day.

My food plan is to be low carb, gluten free (no wheat, rice (brown included), soy, corn) & low salt & lower salt product's. I'm trying to heal my guts so I try to eat foods that don't cause inflammation to my intestine's. I've come to understand that I have digestive issues & by this being a consequences to what I'm eating…

Welcome to MFP! You can add me as a friend. I've been diagnosed w/high blood pressure (which leads to other things). I've made up my mind to do LCHF as a lifestyle not just a diet. I'm not saying that it's been easy but for the most part if I continue to eat a high carb diet I fear to be a diabetic soon. In researching low…

Check out www.mariahealth blog.com, www.marksdailyapple, againstallgrain.com or www.lighterside.com for recipe inspiration & great infor on being gluten free. I'm doing the same thing & I've not been officially diagnosed either. It is very expensive & I have a limited budget too. I mainly stick to meats, cheeses & veggies…

Check out www.mariahealth.blogspot.com & you may very well find your answer there. She has some really interesting info on how foods that are suppose to be good for you can still cause blood sugar spikes & she also offers some alernative recipe's.

I do this too. I use Pomi crushed tomatoes for my homemade sauce b/c it's low in sodium & carbs along with the ingredient's listed in the quotes above.

I've not been formally diagnosed but found these particular blogs to be insightful which is why I made my choice. www.mariahealth.blogspot.com, www.marksdailyapple.com, www.wheatbellyblog.com, www.againstallgrain.com & www.gapsdiet.com to name a few. All of these variations helped with good information & plenty of recipe…

I'm not diagnosed with any intolerences but removing grains from my diet has been an eye opening experience. I originally did this to keep my carbs under control b/c of high blod pressure. As I googled for low carb recipe's I ran across of few blogs like Wheat Belly, Maria's health blog & Marks Daily Apple which helped me…

Try googling Breads from Anna. She has a wide variety of gluten-free bread products to suit many needs. Her products can be used in a bread machine. I've not tried them yet but plan to & I don't have a bread maker yet.

I have to say when I gave up the grains I noticed more of a loss. I try to be strict but Isometimes dairy, meat & eggs aren't alway's grass fed & the eggs are'nt alway's organic & cage free. My guess is, if you are eating beef, pork & poultry etc. that are not up to the grass fed/organic/free range standards your probably…

My goal for this month is to get thru 1 wk. w/o falling off track either with food choices (which I'll start today) or completing my log for the evening. I usually complete my logs from my cell phone & a few times I forgot & drifted off to sleep from being so sleepy  ,lol!

Try Inner Eco Coconut water probiotics. I'm a low carber too (I use the plain one) 1 tbsp a day should get you going. It works fast so stay near a bathroom when you plan to use it, lol. I like this product b/c it works like a laxative w/o the junky ingredients or side effects. It's just young coconut water &…

I've been working out since last for a while & have used various tools such as YouTube for videos or DVD's. My all time favorite is Tae Bo for cardio & calesthenic's. I've lost 25 lbs in 8 mo. I believe you're the rock star here. I appreciate all the great info I get from your threads & I'm glad you started it!

I've got mixed feelings on this topic. Not only accountability but education in laymans terms from Dr's & nutritionalist/dietician's so people can understand more than NO you can't...& what about those that don't have insurance for whatever reason & is left to their own means? Also they make the food of quality…

Carbs/Glutens that are grains like wheat & rice help the body retain water thus causing one to be heavier. I'm doing a low carb diet as a lifestyle not just to lose weight b/c I'm hypertensive which could lead to diabetes & othe health issues. I don't want to get any sicker than I am so I've decided to adjust what I eat…

Not too sure if you can get away w/no carbs but a low carb (20 gm) diet is usually for people w/high blood pressure, hypertension &/or Diabetics. I'm currently doing a low carb diet due to inflammation in my guts which leads to being insulin resistant which leads to other health issues. hope this helps a little & good luck!

All of what they said. You could also try keeping your sodium at 1500 mg as well as watch for hidden sodium in pre-packed foods, don't eat fruit packed in syrups, eat low carb forming fruits like berries, honey dew & canteloupe, cut back on grains such as wheat, rice, corn & soy, maybe try fasting in intrevals for 8 hr's…
