I used to love spinach and eat it raw, just as a snack. But for some reason, it makes me feel super sick now. It's all right if I mix in a few leaves of it in a salad, but spinach alone just makes me feel awful. At least I can never get sick of broccoli and carrots, I guess.

Thanks for your support, everyone! It's nice to be back to such a welcoming community. I really feel it's something I've been needing lately. :)

19 here, and just starting back here.

I'm in the same boat. I just downed several chocolate covered pretzel rods, which I know I shouldn't have done as I have clearly put on some holiday weight. *sigh* Oh well. Just trying to remember, soon I'll be back in my routine, which consists of constant walking and reasonably portioned meals.

Drinking milk really helps me get full faster--either skim or sometimes even lowfat chocolate milk (I'm kind of picky about milk, so those are the only kind I drink, but I'm sure any kind would do).

Well, I kind of did that last night. My roomate ordered pizza and cheesy bread from Domino's, and I ate more than I would have liked to, and ended up not recording it. Weighed myself this morning and my weight was fine. I know that's like the EPITOME of bad habits, but I just wanted to help her eat it. haha

I suppose it is possible. When I first started counting my calories, I realized that I wasn't necessarily overeating as far as calories go, but I was eating a lot of "empty" foods that just met my daily intake or, in some rare cases, came short of it. But that's why counting puts it all into perspective, I guess.

I "cheat" every day, and I'm still seeing results. I eat a cookie at least twice a week, chocolate milk with lunch several times per week, and my Kettle Jalapeno chips about once a week. I just learn how to balance it out so that it fits my daily goal. I don't see the point in making long lists of foods that are off limits…

Well, one calzone in my dining hall has over 1k cals and 2.5kmgs of sodium. jjdfjfjfjgjfjj THAT'S SODIUM FOR THE REST OF THE DAY! Thank god I checked up on that (haven't had one since the beginning to the semester, but just in case I was ever tempted). I'm all for splurging, but that's a bit too much of a splurge for me.…

Hello there, As a current college student at a relatively rigorous university, I understand what you are going through. I tend to procrastinate myself, but instead of food, I turn to my computer, and just can't draw myself away from it. What makes matters worse is that a lot of my work is done on my laptop, so it takes…

I second the sparkling water suggestion. That's what I drank for a while. That said, I never was much of a pop drinker, but when I'd go out to eat, I'd always be tempted to get a Dr. Pepper, and then drink at least 3 glasses because the refills were free. Now I have no problem ordering ice water with lemon when I go out to…

Heaviest I've ever been: 186 as of last year Current: 172 Goal: 150 at the moment. Since that's still techically overweight for my height, I'm going to get there and then see if I'd like to go lower. Oh and height: barely 5'2, haha

Pretty much anything by Nicki Minaj, but...Starships is so freaking addictive.:(

Oh, and this happened in middle school, so these days I kind of shrug it off as everyone just being an insecure little dbag about everyone and everything around them, but it did kind of get to me at the time... I was at a dance and this kid who I could never quite read went up to my date, patted him on the back, and said,…

"You're just a little Oompa Loompa." lawl. :( About two months later, the same girl looked at me real well and said, "You got skinny." Couldn't help smiling a little at that one.

Great thing about Kur Vonnegut...he's blunt, he's matter-of-fact, he's funny. Every time I read him, it doesn't even feel like I'm reading, but at the same time it does.

Fahrenheit 451, Dandelion Wine, Galapagos, Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat's Cradle, Sirens of Titan, Lolita... yeah, I love books. Also, listen or read any of the poetry by Buddy Wakefield and Andrea Gibson. A-FREAKING-MAZING! Even better when you listen to it.

I'm hoping and praying it doesn't happen to me too bad. A cup size I actually wouldn't mind, but I'm already starting to feel a little space in my current bra. haha

Cheesepuffs are awesome! I love mac and cheese. Can't say it enough. The stuff is heavenly. And I'm not talking about Kraft either, which I find to be pretty gross. I'm talking about the homemade, extra cheesy kind, often with shell noodles. Yum... Still do get a little bit once a week when it's served in the dining hall.…

Well, considering my dining options here are pretty much buffet style, I have no choice. But it's still quite easy to not overdo it, especially since it's set up in a way that you pay for your food after you've weighed it out and such. I just make sure I take reasonable portions and I've always been statisfied, never felt…

I have an awful habit of weighing daily too, but I only record a weight if it's been consistent for at least three days (and even that can be faulty). So I guess the moral of the story is not to stress too much about what the scale says. If you are making lifestyle changes that involve a balanced diet and some kind of…

I'm doing this for me. Every time I tried to do it for somebody else, I only failed. Sure, I can use outside encouragement and attention as incentives, but in the end, only I can really decide what I do for myself.

I agree. I had a roast beef sandwich from Arby's tonight. I don't feel guilty. It fit in, I never have fast food, and so I don't feel guilty.

Too much spinach. I am sad to say this, I actually do love a good spinach salad. But if I eat too much, I just feel sick to my stomach. I have to balance it out with other veggies to avoid that feeling. I also cannot stomach canned tuna. Never had fresh tuna, and honestly that looks delicious. I am a big fish eater, but…

I kind of selective about veggies, but I do loooove raw broccoli and cauliflower. Can eat that stuff like potato chips, without any dip, which definitely helps it with its healthy snack status, haha. I enjoy carrots too, both raw and steamed.
-
Don't worry, I am too, but it definitely is more destructive than it is constructive to do so because weight tends to fluctuate over the course of the day. And then you freak out when the scale goes up a bit, even though rationally you know it's normal. I totally get it. But this is why I joined MFP, so I guess my bad…

I am. Don't really want to start dating til I am at my goal weight, though.

Mac & Cheese x 1000 Love that stuff, but...DAT SODIUM! :P

Friday is now officially my cheat day meal, haha. It's strange, but the dining hall here has orgasmic mac and cheese but it's pretty high in sodium and such. I just make sure to get a decent serving and make sure I eat a balanced meal. Only once a week anyway.
