Don't worry about missing the black Friday deal - there's a york set on there that's only £2 than the one that was on offer. There are some push-up progressions here - http://kevinlarrabee.com/its-all-about-progression-push-ups/

I was sat on the bench resting between sets when this little old lady tottered in, walked up to one of the pulleys and started cracking out reps and the first thought through my mind was "F**k yeah! You go for it!". I was more impressed with seeing that than anything else I've seen in the gym, especially the…

Check out New Rules of Lifting For Women (sorry, I'm assuming you're female) there is a ready to go routine.

Thank you :blushing: I still haven't settled into a fixed training program as shift work means I am all over the place. My cardio sessions are generally 20 min light walking (whilst watching Big Bang Theory!) followed by 40 minutes on intervals. Strength was a 12-week beginner's program I found on-line, but I'm…

I started measuring BF% at the end of July and was at 33%. As of last Monday (14 weeks) I was at 20.3% using combination of MFP for food, Krav Maga, weight training and cardio. My lean mass has actually increased by 1.1kg in the same time.

Try the Nerd Fitness bodyweight workout... http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

I get exactly the same thing. I've just started New Rules of Lifting, so Monday did 2 sets of 15 squats with 50kg and Lunges with 30kg. Yesterday I was sore, but did 30 min medium cardio to keep blood flow up. Today I am SORE but will be off to Krav in an hour and a half. Taking paracetamol and avoiding NSAIDs like…

Congrats on the NSV - lucky you have a seamstress to help!

I'm open to new friends - but if I'm "man candy" I'm afraid I'm sort of at the "fudge" stage!

Don't obsess on the number on the scales, track your key body measurements as well (I track BF%, chest, waist and hips). I've had weeks where the scale has gone up, but the measurements have fallen; so although I've not lost weight I have lost fat

Very solid advice - I lost a load of weight 10 years ago, but got bored of going to the gym, stopped exercising which then started a chain reaction of events culminating in weight gain. Now the gym is only supplemental to my main exercise (Krav Maga) and if I miss a session unexpectedly, my instructor will be asking me…

Well, working out at a mate's gym, I witnessed one of the guys there incline pressing a pair of 44kg dumbbells

When you start out, take front and side view photos (as much as you may not want to) - I didn't and regret it now. For the same reason record measurements from the start (for the first 3 months I only weighed myself).
-
Congrats - you can definitely see some definition starting to come in; keep up the good work!
-
Now that I've started taking photos - I have decided on monthly on the 1st of the month. Looking back, I wish that when I started this journey back in May I started tracking everything (I only tracked weight for the first 11 weeks) and took progress photos (I only took the 1st one in September) but I hated the thought of…

I like these simple recipes... 2 Cans tuna (Standard UK cans, about 180g drained) 1 Can sweetcorn 200g Passata 125g Ricotta Cheese 100g Pasta (Dry weight) cooked according to instructions Warm the passata in a saucepan. Add in the tuna and sweetcorn and let the passata cook down until desired consistency. Stir in the…

I have done body combat before - but I prefer to do it "for real", so I now train in Krav Maga and actually burn more calories in a session according to my HRM!

Birmingham here - just a few days past my first century on MFP (103 I think now) Starting New Rules of Lifting for strength training along with some bodyweight work (managed 2 proper pull-ups yesterday!) and training in Krav Maga with first grading in 2 weeks. Dom

I've been using 30DS and I like it and her approach. I do find it slightly amusing as it starts and she walks in with a real male swagger though

No, I'm going to IKMF P-Camp at Caesarea Sea Centre, then spending a few nights in TLV to go sight-seeing

Another Krav practitioner here  Currently counting down to a week training in Israel next year

I've just done day 3 of level 1

Seriously like this!

I find if I work steady state then my Polar FT7 and the treadmill (Lifefitness) are usually within 4-5 calories of each other. If I switch to intervals then the FT7 reads significantly higher.

I can see why you're proud - that's one hell of an achievement. Way to go! Was doing a 12 week intro program, but just started with NROL

Limited range of kit - only two barbells, both olympic, one on the squat rack on on the bench press. People not putting weights away when they're done with them.

Don't forget that predicted max heart rate is just that - predicted. It is a mathematical estimation, commonly using the Haskell and Fox equation of 220-age (so mine would be 220-38=182bpm) however this was not a clinical trial or study but a meta-analysis of other studies. Nor does it indicate any SD. It does get used in…

You're welcome, thank you for the cheesecake recipe
