Simple fridge oats. No cooking. Toss in a small ball jar or lidded container the night before. Get out in the morning and grab a spoon. 1/2 c. old fashioned rolled oats 1/2 c. almond milk (or dairy, soy, water, whatever you prefer) additions of choice pinch or two of cinnamon and a small handful of raisins, or pinch or two…

Am 33. Started at the very tail end of July with 130 to lose. Have lost 50 so far. Never going back. It's painfully slow after the first stall, but that's to be expected, and you just have to keep plugging away. Best of luck!

"Pickle-sicles" were my favorite treat as a kid. Who knew there was a "health" benefit. :P

Slice open and pit some medjool dates (dried or fresh, whichever you prefer), stuff in the cheese and a sliver of almond, wrap in bacon and "bake" in the toaster oven until the bacon is browns... I also love to spread goat cheese on my bagels instead of cream cheese, and top with toasted fennel, or poppy seeds or chopped…

I drive a trusty old 83 Hondamatic. I'll probably be laughed off the site for this, but I learned how to drive it before I learned how to drive a car, and I'll always be faithful to my little clutchless wonder. :)

Seafood molcajete with rice, sour cream and guac. Skip the tortillas. Use a spoon/fork.

HOLY MAP! I can't wait to seriously take the time to pour over this! The first time I was asked "why are you obese," it was by my shrink. It took years for me to come to terms with that one... in fact, I revisited the question after I heard it in a very different context when I was visiting Ghana and was asked by an…

YAY! Someone else knows the Titanic song! :) Oh it was sad (it was sad) It was sad (it was sad) It was sad when the great ship went down To the bottom of the... Husbands and wives, Little bitty children lost their lives It was sad when the great ship went down! Glug Glug!

I get even by telling it that NO, in fact I DO NOT want a fitness tip. And it sulks. And I feel a teensy bit better out of spite.

WOOOOOOOOSH. Right over the head.

Every summer I spend my birthday with my two best girlfriends. We spend the entirety of the day on the beach, leaving only for lunch and free tastings at all the local wineries. This year, my goal (by August) is to wear my swim suit without wearing clothes over it like I do EVERY year.

Bolthouse yogurt-based blue cheese dressing. Something like 35 or 45 cals per serving (2 TBSP). I find it at Kroger in the refrigerated veggie fixin's area. :)

It's the supplier (of BK and of Tesco) who were selling mislabeled meat. Two weeks ago when the story broke that the supplier had included horse in the "beef" burgers, BK immediately and adamantly claimed that their supply had not been affected instead of pulling their supply "just to be safe" like Aldi did, they lied to…

*snort* (Edited to note: THat is not a fat joke. That's how I laugh....*looking around for moderators*)

I'm only 1/3 of hte way through my 120+lb loss, but some pleasant surprises: -How quickly I walk, and the fact that I can walk quickly beside another person and carry on a conversation. I used to hate my walk across campus, because undoubtedly, someone would ask me a question, and I'd be huffing and puffing and embarassed…

Oh.... Well.... I'm glad we understand eachother.

You're right... But I'm gonna guess that the best of them also don't have a dozen chocolate cup cakes in their fridge when prepping for competitions either. Practicing my will power at the store when I decide how much of what I can handle in my pantry/fridge/immediate vicinity based on how much resolve I'm feeling is NOT…

It's just me, and I keep a separate budget for pet supplies/food, as well as personal items (tp, shampoo, etc). I budget $120 a month on groceries for myself, and I only allow myself to eat out about 2 meals a month (typically special occasions, girls night out, etc). I live close to my office, so I go home for lunch every…

I'm 5'4". The healthiest I've ever been was when I was in Junior high and an active jock. (Then I had back surgery and everything went to hell). I was 164 lbs in the midst of my volleyball season. Toned and fit. I haven't grown an inch since then, and I realize that I'm not nearly as active as I was then, so I set my goal…

This. Just remember that no one can diminish you unless you give them permission. Best of luck with getting healthy!

Zombies Run. (5K trainer and the regular game.)

Someone in another forum used the response "Well, you know *kitten* burns a lot of calories." I'm just waiting for the first person to ask me now so I can fire that at them. :)

*blink. blink.* SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

It takes 3500 calories OVER your daily expenditure to gain a pound. (Outside normal fluctuations, of course.) Wrap your brain around that and leave your fear in the dust. Do you have any idea how difficult it would be to eat 3500 calories ABOVE your TDEE?! This concept was the game changer for me. That fear will un-do you.…

Will be doing c25k training in a few more months. Already purchased my zombies run c25K app. Trying to drop a bit more poundage before I begin. (I'd like my knees to last at least til I'm 40). :) But I can hardly wait! Good luck to you!

Don't assume that. Ask the bakery for a list of ingredients. Food providers have an ethical responsibility to provide answers for questions about the ingredients of their products. Food intolerance is a very widespread and normal issue, and all food services deal with it -- even small local bakeries.

I eat my granola (or cereal) with greek yogurt every day instead of milk. I just can't stomach meat early in the morning. If greek yogurt is too bitter for you, add a little honey.

Dayum. You are QUITE the sculptor!!! THat's seriously awesome!

Smart little chicks, dancing away so they can eat more, see? :)
