Ummmm... isn't this completely defeating the purpose?! I mean, what's the point if it's not a bunch of cheese and sourcream all rolled up in a delicious portable bed of carbs?! (Also, the nearest chipotle from here is also 45 minutes. My saving grace. ;))

Who SAID CHIPOTLE!?!?! Cue Pavlovian Dog response... Crap...

I unexpectedly kicked my McDonald's fry addiction by spending two weeks in Ghana. Have you ever ordered french fries at a restaurant, then waited an hour while the cooks in the kitchen peeled, cut, and fried your fresh potatoes to perfection in fresh palm oil?!? I'll never be satisfied by an American-made french fry again.…

Born and raised in Hicksville, Ohio! (Yes that's the real name of it.) State line near Fort Wayne, IN. Home of the curly fry maker. (Now THERE'S a claim to fame!). :)

What exactly is your goal every day? Your calorie intake seems to be all over the place. Figure out your basal and tdee. Eat slightly below them. You'll lose.

Ranchaholic here. 1 2-cup container of Fage 0% fat greek yogurt and 1 ranch seasoning packet of choice. 10 cal per tablespoon. You can also make your own ranch seasoning (google it), and take out all the extra sodium etc. if you like. :)

Lady at work made cake pops this past weekend, and brought three in for me. LIterally one bite per pop... 500 $#%&ing calories?!?!?! For THREE BITES!? Never again. I don't even LIKE cake!

A: Looks like you just started, which means your 8 lbs was probably water weight. Give it a month. Your body needs to adjust to the changes. B: Measure yourself in inches/cm, not just pounds. Even when the scale doesn't reflect the loss, the measuring tape will. C: Keep an eye on your sodium intake. (I'm saying this one…

Teriyaki chicken: 3 chicken breasts diced 1 large can pineapple chunks and juice, 1 onion chopped into chunks 1/2 bag baby carrots 3/4 c favorite teriyaki sauce (watch the sodium!) 1 green pepper diced Serve over rice or quinoa.

3 chicken breasts, 1 c salsa, 1 packet taco seasoning. Cook til done, then shred the chicken with forks and roll up in tortillas with some cheese and sour cream if you like. :)

1 lb stew meat (beef) 1/4 c beef broth 4 c broccoli (1 frozen bag) 1 packet of onion soup mix. Put everything in except the broccoli (unless it's fresh, in which case, toss it in too), cook 4-6 hours, add frozen broccoli 30 minutes before finished. Enjoy with noodles or over rice or quinoa.

I get weird looks when I tell people about this, but I've been eating cold oatmeal every morning since July. I bought a dozen 8 oz.. jam jars (used for canning), and every sunday, I gather up a bunch of them and fill with 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats, 1/2 cup milk (almond, dairy, or even on occasion water with a…

I love it. And it's a fairly easy switch if you're used to skim milk.... But forewarning: using it as a "creamer" in coffee gives your coffee floaties. Ew.

I'm only just beginning, so no one has really noticed that I'm losing weight yet... But I haven't really told anyone for this reason in particular. Aside from my closest family members and my MFP cheerleading squad, no one knows. When people start to notice (or you let it slip) that you're getting healthy, suddenly…

When I had this, my doctor told me to buy those pharmacy-sold dr. sholl arch support inserts for every pair of shoes I owned, and even to purchase a pair a slippers that I could put inserts into as well. Then I was never to put my feet on the floor if I didn't have shoes on. I did what he told me, along with some easy…

There's no real magic to it... You don't look at a picture every day, and then magically become the picture. I can't seriously expect to look at a picture of the size 8 me every day on my way to the freezer to eat my daily carton of ice cream, and expect that I'll wake up three sizes smaller tomorrow. But I can put that…

Girl, I can gain 3 lbs in a MEAL. They're right. It depends a lot on sodium. I also have learned that there are 2 weeks every month where I don't make any progress... The first week, I gain, the second week, I lose what I gained, and then I make progress the following two weeks... but that's only if I'm eating right,…

Also known as the Atkins diet. And "tricking" your body into losing weight is never a good way to lose weight and keep it off. Unfortunately, I know this from experience. If you want to eat low carb, then set your own personal goals on MFP, and keep the carb goal low. Ask yourself: Do you want to lose weight or do you want…

I did some googling, and the best I could find was "active arts/crafts, standing, moderate effort" was 238 calories per hour. Of course, we all know pottery is "moderate effort" at its worst... Wedging, mixing, centering... And I use a kick wheel in my home studio as well, so... Even loading and unloading the kiln! I…

I lost 60 lbs on Atkins in about 7 months, and then maintained for 2 months before beginning to gain it back... I gained 150% of it back -- and not by eating junk. As soon as you re-introduce carbs to your diet, you'll start to gain. Potatoes. Bread. Grains. I don't consider these foods "junk" but like all foods, they need…

Not true, actually... That skin can still tighten. But you'll still likely have "scars" from the stretch marks...

A handful of chopped raw veggies, a slice of bread and a half a can (or whole can if I'm feeling hungry) of tuna... The really *GOOD* tuna... not that bumblebee crap. I like Ortiz (Bonita Del Norte) white tuna in olive oil. :)

Hey all... I'm a newbie, and also work a desk job. I go home for lunch almost every day (I have a pooch who needs let out to pee, so she keeps me committed), but I'm pretty darned lazy about actually putting a meal together for lunch and end up grazing with my head in the fridge until I feel satisfied... So, I'm basically…

Thanks all :) Most of it has been said before, and I hope that this different approach (one that focuses more on awareness, rather than "Diet rules") will be a solid start for me. Already, in logging everything for a couple days just to get the habit of keeping track (without really focusing on changing bad habits yet),…
