  • I think one of my struggles is that 'I know' I shouldn't be eating wheat. My sister was diagnosed with Celiac's by blood draw and didn't have to have the biopsy. I just got tested and the labs were normal; but when I've had wheat my throat and lungs feel heavy even with starting cingular.. Without cingular I'd exercise and…
  • It is tough.. Sometimes I feel like... Aren't there any rules?? What the heck am I supposed to do now? I've been so used to diet books etc telling me what to do; sometimes you feel lost. Hunger OMG tring to make friends with that feeling, it's almost like something waiting around a corner getting ready to pounce. But what…
  • Congradulations!!! You look great!! What an inspiration!!
  • Good for you Buffy Maybe we can do it together?
  • Ok I'm starting day 3.. Day 2 was pretty shaky with 'almost' binging... I'm still weighing myself and counting calories.. (I need to stay off that scale) Finding that watching TV while eating is a 'really not good for awareness of what I'm eating. Neither is loneliness. The things that were a positive. I am starting to…
  • This is reality!!! Too GREAT!!! I love it. I read the first book and loved it. The second one I bought as an audible and can't get into it... somehow having a woman narrator 'talking' like Christian Grey; just doesn't do it for me.
  • Day One of adventure into intuitive eating!!! So far it's a bit frightening. I'm trying to gauge my hunger and determine where it's coming from.. From my biology or my psychology.. An am frustration with co-workers turned into an immediate feeling of hunger with my deciding to honor it. It turned out to be true hunger…
  • Me too I agree!! But I also think that cardio work will work other muscles as well. That you don't use in sync as you would with walking or running. And sometimes it's just nice to rest your mind with a long walk
  • I've noticed my heart rate 'does' going higher sometimes with weights; but usually its with high weights or when I'm utilizing multiple large musles; such as lunges with bicep curls. I think it's a great way to get the best of both worlds.!
  • Opuntia You have no idea how much I needed to hear that... Especially this am. I've steadily gone up in my weight to my 'all time high of my life' of 197 with my waist at 38.5 I've never in my life been this big. I've been thinking about a 2 day fast for just that reason you've described. I woke up (before I got on the…
  • Hi My name is Bonnie and I've read some intuitive healing books. I agree with the principles and really would love the freedom of being able to trust my body and my body's judgements of when I'm hungry and how much to eat to satisfy the biological urge. (And use the appropriate tools for satisfying hunger for emotional…
  • Love this idea.. It was getting to the point of my actually 'hating' food.
  • Me too!!! Same symtoms plus maybe some GERD and poor clarity of thinking
  • Hi Silvergrizz I'm reading this book after my sister was diagnosed with celiac's disease. We have a long history of autoimmune diseases in our family.. Mostly thyroid and connective tissue disorders. She was originally diagnosed with fibromyalgia; but, a savy endocrinologist didn't stick to the traditional signs of…

  • HI Heather My name's Bonnie... I'm a little older , I'm 53 and need to loose a bit of weight; but, I've always dreamed of running a 5K. I've walked them; but, never ran anything (Except away from a dog that climbed the fence; that was a good 3 minutie sprint! ;-)) I'm looking forward to the encouragement; stories and new…
  • Tetracat Please don't quit... I feel like that a lot. My muscles and joints ache and I get depressed... That stupid little voice in your head that says 'you'll never be able to run 30 min straight' deflates what's left of your resolve... But you know.. What if you quit.. Where will you be in one year.. What if you at least…
  • Hi All I'm new to the group and to my fitness pal. I've been looking for some support on my efforts to start running. I'm 53 and my weight is 194 and I'm 5ft 5 inches.
