It might sound funny but body weight exercises are great. You need little to no equipment and there is a lot of info on the web. I incorporate body weight exercises along with my other workouts. This site isn't bad to start with. http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

Great job! Adding mileage is never any easy thing, especially when it's cold. Let me guess you are either from or live in Canada? Also what year is the Firebird in your ticker looks like a 67 thru 69 model.

Weekdays I'm running around 4:45 so no sun yet. An Under Armour long sleeve shirt and a windbreaker, and longs pants. I'll take a hat an gloves but usually end up carrying them or stuffing them in a pocket after a few laps. Best of luck getting out there to run.

I'm using the Map My Run app and based on what I can find out it looks like it uses Google maps. Because I can't get every twist and turn detailed on the map I'm tending to think that the GPS is more accurate. Like everyone has said both are approximations and at least I'm out putting in mileage. The difference is about…

I used mapmyrun as the map and jog tracker as the app. I'm starting to lean more towards the GPS because it matches up better with some "actual" distances I've found for the courses I run. Thanks for the input.,

A few suggestions- You can get a weighted vest instead of the ruck (not sure of cost) & it probably won't jostle as much 2 x 20 seems like a lot of weight to start maybe start with 5lbs (a brick) and carry some water / food in the ruck as well If $ is no object the you can try a goruck ( http://www.goruck.com/ ) they are…

I've been lucky, I've seen the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and the Great lakes. A good friend of mine from college never saw it until we went on spring break 1 year. The look on his face was priceless.

It was written by an ex-con (Paul Wade) who took what he learned in prison and created a progression of 6 body weight exercises. Each exercise has 10 steps / progressions to go through to get to the "master". For example push ups start with wall push ups and end with 1 arm push ups. His philosophy is to do each exercise…
