I appreciate your concern and your recognition of my progress. I am aware that I don't eat wonderfully everyday and that some days I barely eat at all. I know it doesn't appear to be healthy or a safe way of losing weight. Surprisingly, I don't always restrict my calories intentionally. I'm lucky enough to love vegetable-…

I'm 5ft 3.75inches. Ideally, I'd love to weigh in around 105lbs; I do think I would be satisfied weighing around 110-115lbs though. Aside from wanting to hit my goal weight, I'd also love to tone up and drop a great deal of body fat. Weighing in at 115lbs with 10-13% body fat is significantly healthier and asthetically…

My favorite healthy snack is 1-2tbsp of peanut butter on a banana or apple- it's so yummy! My favorite meal is 2 cups of mixed veggies and 3/4c cubed tofu sautéed in 2tbsp garlic, 1tbsp soy sauce, 1/2tsp of seasame chili oil, 1tsp hoisin sauce, 1tbsp peanut butter, 1tbsp saracha sauce, 1/4c water, and a sprinkling of…

Salt and I are very often at odds! I have very very low sodium levels and have to actually take medicine that keeps salt (and potassium/magnesium) in my blood. I drink 120-180 fl. oz. of water a day, which is a bit much, but I find it helps with the bloating. My doctor also recommends I put extra salt on all my food and…

Very true! (some silly people- like me- are actually paying the absurd amounts of money to actually become one, though.)

Exactly! I wasn't claiming he or she had Orthorexia. I was just explaining that it is a legit disorder. I'm not a person who will label people with anything- diagnosis or otherwise! Knowledge is power, if you have information- share it (hopefully in a thoughtful, kind way. There's no need to be pejorative or nasty!…

I agree with this too!

That's an actual eating disorder. It's called Orthorexia.. It hasn't been added to the DSM, but it is highly recognized in the eating disorder community. "Orthorexia is a proposed eating disorder or mental disorder characterized by an extreme or excessive preoccupation with avoiding foods perceived to be unhealthful" I…

I find myself holding both sides of this. I do think "eating disorder" is thrown around much to freely around here. I have personal experienced the horrors of anorexia and bulimia, though. I find myself worried with some people's caloric intake and might urge them to truly look at whats going on for them self. I am not a…

(may be triggering to those who are/have struggled with anorexia and bulimia.) I also struggle/struggled with an eating disorder. At 8 years of age, I began purging. By 10, I was purging up to 15 times a day. I dropped weight rapidly. By 11- I stopped purging because I stopped eating all together. I was admitted to…

Hello! I am Sarah-Elizabeth. I am 18 years old, and I am a full-time student, studying medicine. I have lost 107 pounds, and hope to lose 50-65 more pounds. I'm not terribly focused on the weight itself; I'm more interested in how I'm feeling. I'd love to find support in people here, and I'd love to give any support or…

Hello! How quickly are you looking to lose this weight? If done rigidly, though healthy, you can lose 2 pounds a week. You surely can lose more with unhealthy eating/exercise behaviors, though you feasibly will gain back the weight rapidly. I'd recommend consuming 5-6 small meals a day in order to keep your metabolism…

I think its quite silly to eat back calories that I've burned off. I do not eat them back, regardless of my exercise. I typically use the elliptical for 45-90 minutes a day (with 10 pound ankle weights), or run 8-12 miles a day. I simply coordinate my meals around my exercise, as to not get too dizzy or physically…
