What a transformation, you have worked really hard. Congratulations! Enjoy your summer!

Hey there, how much weight do you want to lose? So sorry about arthritis in your knees, that must not be real fun. I have arthritis in my hands, hips and lower back so I get what you mean.

My non-scale victory is being able to eat without depriving myself of foods I love. Also, realizing that if I only eat foods I love, I will only aggravate my stomach, acid reflux, and overall health.
-
Congratulations! I think that is awesome.

Kat, you are so tiny! MOST IMPORTANTLY, you've found the way to heal yourself on the inside and be kind to yourself. Truly, that is what we all must do. Congratulations on your journey. I know change never stops.

Yeah it doesn't give me much faith in people the way some respond.

I know what you mean, that's why I hate eating with people at work. Same feeling. I just remember that I've logged in my calories for my lunch/know how much it is and they can go jump. There has to be some way we can get emotions detached from food. It's so hard sometimes.

Great information--I like it too. So true.

I was wondering if you're exercising too much...I know that sounds crazy but....then again, you changed your routine in general and that helped for some reason.

I'll join, let me know what name you choose!

Anyone can add me too! I am at 237 (started at 252) and looking for 150 or less. I would love to have some companions on this journey, which may take me over a year, but I'm prepared to do it. Thanks!

I'm impressed! Especially about getting up early in the morning! Congrats on all your hard work.

I agree, you look like you've lost more! Thanks for the inspiration this morning. You should feel so proud!!

Just having a young child is tiring in itself! When my kids were little all I wanted to do was sleep because they didn't sleep real well, but maybe yours does. You'll like MFP, it's so helpful! Best wishes!

I eat dinner early so I tend to get hungry at night too. For me, it's logical because (even when I eat protein) I get hungry every 2-3 hours. So of course I am hungry if it's 10m--it's been five hours since I last ate. So I'm trying to combat this by eating a small protein mini-meal of 100-200 calories at night. It does…

Work stress is a big deal for me. I am more hungry and less able to go from one meal to the next, even with a snack, during the workday. There is a lot of science behind it, thank you for showing the link to that article. I go back to work soon and I'm worried about this exact topic.

LESLIE SANSONE--great for beginning and intermediate. ...And you sweat.... She's positive and makes you feel glad you exercised.

I'm not sure why this thread got into a strange discussion, but I agree with you about food corporations. Their goal is really not our health, it's about selling the product, no matter what's in it. Of course, some food companies care about what they put into their food (ie: Stonyfield). What I'm always surprised with is…

I don't have a recipe for one, but here is a recipe that people love when I make it: Lentils With Carrots and Onions (adapted from Barefoot Contessa) 1 pound dry lentils (regular or the smaller French green lentils) 2 Tbsp olive oil 2 cups onion(s), chopped 1 Tbsp ground oregano 2 tsp table salt ¾ tsp black pepper 3 cloves…

-Going to Paris and London and having foot pain, hip pain, and knee pain from walking. Not being able to do more things because of the sheer exhaustion. -Feeling like I was letting my family down -Needing a seat belt extender on the plane -Being embarassed that I was the largest person in the Zumba class and it hurt to do…

You HAVE to try the Sweet Potato No-Skins recipe from chef Devin Alexander of the Biggest Loser. Just Google the recipe, you won't be disappointed. THESE ARE AMAZING!

Thank you for sharing this, I think I have the same problem. Two to three hours after I eat, I am hungry (especially if I have cereal or even Greek yogurt) and I always wondered why. I'll be hungry even after a protein-only meal too. Other people can eat five hours later and be fine, but not me. My grandmother had…

I also like Leslie Sansone, especially when the weather's bad outside. I've also liked The Firm.

Yay! You must feel great! Thank you for posting!

I didn't see it, but I'm really good at gaining weight so I could easily see myself gaining that much (unfortunately).

1.5 pounds a week is good, congratulations! If you're into health and possible weight lifting or competition, the magazine Oxygen is awesome. Actually it's great for non-competitive women too, and it's so positive. Good luck!

I don't know if this helps but my husband and I did a similar program (Tony Horton) and got stronger but didn't lose much weight. I have spent many hours at the gym and saw some losses but not the major losses I thought for SURE I'd see. All this was probably due to muscle-building. But me, being so cognizant of my weight,…

I lost a lot of weight once before and I noticed I had less pain in my joints and feet. Several years later I found out from scans that I have some arthritis (I'm in my 40s), I don't know if you might have that too. Anyway, I think not going too crazy exercising will help with pain levels. ....Ibuprofen does too! :)

Maybe the totally cutting out is the problem. Maybe allowing yourself a sweet treat (within reason) would make you feel less like you needed a binge. Try to work in some foods you love and adapt recipes (look at recipes online like on Prevention's website) to match your calories. Sometimes all or nothing approaches make me…
