Thanks for the post. I especially liked the part about loving the body you're in. (and also the part where the rude guy got deleted .:drinker: )

Nursing is usually a very busy, high stress work environment, and oncology can be particularly so. You have my admiration. I'm also a nurse (public health now, but I worked for a long time at the hospital), and I've used coffee, tea, and soda to stay alert and energetic, not to mention hydrated. I used to drink from 3-5…

Whoa, Karincakes! If that is you in the profile pic, I'll have whatever it is you're having....

I don't drink any kind of sweetened soda, artificial or real, and I try to avoid artificial sweeteners and high fructose corn syrup in my food most of the time, too. I stopped drinking soda about 3-4 years ago, and I drink tea instead, because I'm still a caffeine addict.

Every other weekend belongs to my family. Today, I spent the day shopping with my 16 year old, and tomorrow, I have a hot date with my parents.

I have wide feet with short toes. An old bf told me they look like Barney Rubble's.

Sounds delicious! I'm cooking for my parents tomorrow, and I may give this a try. Thanks!

Thsi recipe sounds wonderful, and thanks for the gluten free suggestion; my son has a gluten allergy, and now I can share with him!

I don't know of any special protein requirements. One concern would be that your blood sugar would drop after donating, and that's why they usually give out cookies. A glass of milk before donating, and a piece of fruit or some yogurt after should head that off, so you wouldn't necessarily have to eat sugary cookies. The…

Losing weight may be harder for people with polycystic, but it is also especially beneficial for them. It's a shame that your doctor wasn't more encouraging. Kudos to you for your hard work and positive attitude, and for proving that it can be done. Keep up the good work!

The rain on my roof, and thunder. Their sweet song seems to be calling me to grab a book, and crawl back in bed...

Wouldn't it be nice if we could share? I'd take a cup size from someone if I could...

I love Halloween, and I'm probably going to dress up twice. Once as Inigo Montoya (going with a group who is dressing as Princess Bride characters), and once with some ladies my age who are dressing as dominatrixes. (5 Shades of Grey, lol! )

I have a Sheltie and an Australian shepherd; the smartest, most loving animals I've ever met. <3

Yes, this, and add to it the muscle loss, which results in slower metabolism. It has also been my experience that when I calorie restrict too much, my overall energy level is lower, and so I move less during my usual daily activities, resulting in a lower burn when I'm not working out, and I probably don't work out as…

Yes, this. I'm definitely a pear...32-26-36, and I like my curvy hips. I've found that when I train my lower body, I get more definition, not bulk, but I have to lose fat to actually lose inches. Because I carry more fat on my lower half, it takes longer for me to see results on my hips and legs than it does on my upper…

Look. I'm not saying that being a leper was a bowl of cherries. But it was a living. I mean, you try waving muscular suntanned limbs in people's faces demanding compassion. It's a bloody disaster.

52 and still smokin'.

I sure hope that's true.

I love Zumba, and while I agree somewhat agree with the detractors who say you can get a better burn other ways, I'm much more prone to exercise when I actually enjoy it, and to me, Zumba is a blast! Like others, I've found that the better I know the moves, the more of a workout I can get.And the instructor does make a…

Me too, and I like wine, but I do try to eat healthy most of the time. And I'm open, good days and the not so good. Add me if you like!

What beautiful girls you have! It looks like they take after their pretty mom...Sometimes, for me, overeating a response to something that is lacking. As you are a new mom with two little ones, the first thing that come to mind mind is that you are probably not getting enough sleep, and that can have a huge impact on your…

I'm a registered nurse, and work as a nurse/casemanager for low income women and their babies. I love my work, hate the bureaucracy.
