I've been eating keto for the past 2.5 years and dropped over 100lbs. I was severely lactose intolerant before dropping the carbs. Even two extra strength lactaid pills wouldn't help. After my transition to a low carb high fat diet I found my LI improved greatly. I haven't taken a single pill in the past two years! I do…

Fats aren't the enemy. They are calorie dense and healthy for you. Avocados, full fat dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese), nuts, coconut oil, etc.
-
I've been at this for years and there has been numerous times where the scale has remained the same for months but my shape changes. Clothing getting baggy = fat loss.

Completely agree. Especially the ones who mention that they had zero energy and headaches constantly while doing low carb. Maybe because they didn't educate themselves and failed to watch their electrolytes.

Love that. I try and avoid threads that I know will end up like this. I'd much rather be full of energy, rarely hungry, and eat rich foods than eat empty carbs that make me feel bloated and moody.

The problem with getting too little protein is that you'll lose muscle instead of fat. 4oz of chicken breast has 22g of protein and is low in calories. You can make a high fat sauce to go with it. Fage greek 2% yogurt has 10g of protein, 4g of carbs for half of the small container. I make a smoothie with that, 3/4c almond…

Definitely don't worry about your calorie intake for the first few weeks. Your body is making huge adjustments and it will eventually figure things out. I suggest increasing your potassium by at least double. I supplement 2000mg+ of potassium citrate a day.

Dragonwolf gave you great advice. I spent week four a few pounds heavier than my lowest weight before I started dropping again. You'll be gaining muscle from your exercise so the scale may not change as muscle weighs more than fat. Judge your fat loss by your measurements. When a cell loses it's fat it pulls in water and…

I add in equal parts of cheddar and cream cheese and wrap half a slice of bacon around each half jalapeno. 400 for 20 minutes then under the broiler to crisp the bacon and brown the cheese. Usually eat this a couple times a month. Definitely wear gloves when chopping/cleaning the jalapenos though!

Started keto Aug. 2012, lost 62ish pounds the first year. I'm down 105ish total. Less than 20lbs until my goal weight. I found that my weight loss slowed when I stopped logging my food. The scale can remain the same weight while you're still losing fat. This has happened to me often. My clothes will become looser over a…

Mine says 240 which I actually told the truth on because I was proud of the almost 40lbs I had already lost. I'm now down another 70 so the picture looks so different than my appearance.

Remember to supplement potassium and magnesium. Also drink broth to help with your sodium levels at first. Drink plenty of water!

I've had psoriasis, mainly on my scalp, since I was a kid. I've never been able to pin point when it's going to flair up other than the changing of the seasons. It always gets bad in Spring and Autumn. I can clear it up totally during the Summer and Winter though. It's been this way for all through adulthood. It stuck…

I make the bacon wrapped jalapenos. I mix equal portions of cheddar and cream cheese for the insides and half a slice of bacon per half of a jalapeno. I also leave a few seeds in because I like them hot. 400 degrees for 20 minutes and then under the broiler for a bit to crisp everything up. Fresh jalapenos and make sure…

I agree with Dragonwolf. Half a pound in a week is great progress. You can't expect big numbers like you did when you first started. There is no reason to add a stick of butter a day to your diet if you're already eating a decent amount of fat. If you're not then make fat bombs to snack on when you've had a lower fat meal.…

Could be your electrolytes are off balance from the alcohol. Magnesium, potassium, sodium. They are your friends.

Open up your diary so we can take a look. On a side note, your protein levels are really low which could result in muscle loss versus fat.

Just tell them that your doctor says you're at a healthy weight for your height. Seems like people tend to shut up when you mention a doctor's opinion.

This times a million. Trying to aim for the size you were as a teenager isn't healthy. Each person is different and carries their weight differently. This cockeyed.com/photos/bodies/heightweight.html is a pretty neat website with pictures of people at different weights for their heights. I'm 5'6 and currently 170lbs. My…

I'm on adderall (an amphetamine) for ADHD and it suppresses my appetite. I had been logging my food for a long time before medication and it comes in handy. There are times when it reaches 6 or 7pm and I've realized I've only consumed about a third of my daily calories so I will make sure I make a good meal to get in the…

Aim to eat healthy fats. Avocado, MCT oils, nuts, etc. Fat isn't the enemy.

Your body needs a basic amount of calories just to run. They are burned by just existing. You should be eating at a deficit (for your sedentary life) but replacing most of the calories you burn from exercise. Your body will get tired if it's not getting enough calories to exist.
-
Keep up the good work! Remember to take measurements of your body as it's a better indicator of fat loss than the scale. You can remain the same weight and think you'll stalling but your measurements can change. Also taking pics in your underwear is really helpful as well. It's easier for you to notice the change in body…

36yo, 5'6 SW - 274 CW - 170 GW - 150 I eat around 1400 calories a day give or take. This has decreased slowly as my weight has. I've lost it all on diet alone. Going to start lifting soon though.

High fat yogurt is so amazing. The highest I've found is 2% though. What brand is the 4%? I eat low carb so I typically will have half a small container of Fage 2% which works out to 4g of carbs from the natural sugar in the milk. I add in some berries or sweetener and it's amazing.

Feel free to add me. I eat LCHF and have lost over 100lbs.

I've lost over 100lbs on diet alone eating keto (low carb, high fat, moderate protein).

No planned cheat days here either. LCHF if my way of eating but I enjoy some foods in moderation as well. A glass or two of red wine with a steak dinner, one roll of sushi before switching to sashimi, french onion soup (minus the bread), etc. I just keep everything in track and it evens out. I couldn't imagine eating high…
