I agree with the poster who said this-- "if you're not willing to put the work in at the gym, don't go easy on yourself in the kitchen" -- this is so true, but, with that being said...right now I'm being tempted by the yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting that my hubby made last night... :P

Thank you for sharing, and thank you for the motivation. Sometimes I feel like I can't do it...the journey is so long and so hard...but then I read stories like yours and it helps me to stay the course. Thank you.

This! I agree with this. I couldn't have said it better. :) Just don't talk about your fitness choices with them anymore. Just do your own thing. "Be your own cheerleader" and they may chill. I know you probably want them to be supportive and make better choices for themselves. :( And maybe they will come around. Sorry…

Pee Make Coffee Take Thyroid medicine with a big glass of water

My pharmacist told me to take my medicine first thing in the morning (about an hour before eating) and not to have fiber wtih breakfast because this would hinder my body's absorption of the medicine. Also, Synthroid did NOT work for me. I take Armour Thyroid, and I am finally seeing progress. I will NOT work out on an…

Oh, and I wanted to mention that you should be taking your medicine first thing in the morning (with water!) about an hour before you eat anything and NO FIBER with breakfast. This will mess with the absorbtion of your medicine. No fiber until after lunch. I get so sick of eggs for breakfast but it is what it is. ;) Hope…

Might want to consider changing your medicine. I was taking Synthroid (synthetic T4 only) to begin with and it didn't work for me at all (my symptoms were not alleviated), so I asked my doctor to change my meds to Armour (all natural T1,2,3 &4). I am happy with Armour, and I'm FINALLY starting to see some progress. The…

I have hypothyroidism as well. I understand how frustrating it can be. I joined a gym and went and worked out 3-5 days a week for a solid year with NO RESULTS (maybe I was a little stronger). I was also eating healthy (real food-no processed junk) ect. at the time. I didn't have ANY progress until my doctor changed my…

I just see my general practitioner for all my thyroid needs. She runs any test I request. She listens to me. She teaches me about my condition. She has unending patience with me (lol I love Google, and she hasn't rolled her eyes at me once! haha) If I want to change medication (which I did) she writes the script without…

My reaction as well! Senna is a laxative...I'm wouldn't try that...just sayin...

Cheaper foods from the grocery store: rice, beans, chicken (dark meat is cheaper). Ingredients might be cheaper too...like flour, lard & milk to make biscuits (to freeze). There are probably a few local CSAs that would be interested in exchanging food for work on the farm (There is actually one around here (where I live in…

this! I agree with this! :)

I have thyroid disease which was probably caused by over consumption of pesticide laden foods...Also, the bugs that attack the crops are evolving into super bugs that can eat the crops that have been sprayed with the pesticides, so what's the point if the bugs are just gonna get tougher? Kinda like all the super bacteria…

The Maldives-- (before they go under...) The Dead Sea-- (It's the lowest spot on earth (1,312 feet below sea level), has 10 times more saline than seawater (so humans float like corks). ... I think it might be cool to float like a cork...sadly, it might disappear within the next 50 years...) The Poles-- (I want to see…

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I am motivated by reading the success stories. Thank you for sharing, and I can see the pictures you posted just fine. Don't know why that other poster is having trouble. :) Again, thanks for sharing! :)

"They come about when your body grows faster than your skin can compensate." I agree with this. My son has stretch marks on his feet because they grew (and are still growing) too fast for his skin to compensate. I have stretch marks due to pregnancy. Try Mederma® Stretch Marks Therapy. :) Lots of success stories on the…

I don't live close to you, but I'll send you a friend request on here. I am in America. The state of Georgia to be exact, but I will try to help you stay motivated as long as you are logging on here everyday. :) I need people to keep me motivated as well. I, also, am the heaviest I've ever been without being pregnant, so I…

Oh yes, your thyroid will affect your menstrual cycle. I am hypothyroid, and when my thyroid was getting worse (when I was on synthroid my doctor had to go up on my meds every 3 to 6 months), I would suffer from migraines and a heavy, longer time (like 7-10 days long) period flow. :( My doctor changed and adjusted my…

I would have to vote no. It just doesn't seem very safe. I like the facebook idea though. Maybe put up a notice on the bulletin at your gym or church (if you go) or at your workplace maybe? Good luck finding a good roommate. :)

I love Post Raisin Bran. :) But, Organic Kashi Strawberry Fields is good too. I like Honey Bunches of Oats. Also, hot creamy oatmeal (not instant) with dried cherries. :) And, I love instant Cream of Wheat (made with 2/3 milk and 2/3 water, a tsp of butter and a packet of splenda or a tsp of sugar) Mmmmmm.

You can add me as well if you like. :)

Maybe you could take a melatonin supplement? :) It's worked for me. :)
