To my understanding 1200 calories is the minimum a woman should eat per day. http://www.livestrong.com/article/415893-eating-1-200-calories-per-day-exercising-and-not-losing-weight/

You're not eating enough. Try upping your calories. Anything less than 1200 calories will send you into starvation mode & your body starts holding on to everything you eat. Why are you only eating 1000 calories a day?

My HW was 286 (pregnant) & my SW was 283. CW is 252.

On metformin I find I need to eat every few hours or I'll start to feel my blood sugars drop (I'm IR, not diabetic). This is what I do and it seems to help: Breakfast - 9 am Morning Snack - 11:30 am Lunch- 1 pm Afternoon Snack 4 pm Dinner 7 pm Evening Snack 9 pm I don't get hungry on metformin, I go from fine to shaky,…

I have carrot sticks with a fiber one oats and chocolate bar for my morning snack :-)
-
Hot tea always fills me up when I feel like munching & if I really am hungry after that, I'll have some baby carrots, celery or an apple.

Steamed broccoli! A little bit of salt & it's perfect!
-
Candy & cake. I can't keep the stuff in the house, if it's here, I will eat it.

Watching my almost 2 year old daughter have food poisoning for a week from eating part of a happy meal from McDonald's did it for this family. We've been fast food free for a couple of months now. (Even before that it was a rare treat, it's very bad for you & expensive)

A turkey & cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ light miracle whip, romaine lettuce & tomato slices, a salad (romaine lettuce, tomato, baby carrots & cucumber with wishbone balsamic dressing), a clementine & a serving of cooler ranch doritos (because I had to have them lol). All for 500 calories.

My husband & I have been trying to baby #3 for 18 months now but I've only been on metformin since September 2012. In the last 18 months, based on tracking my bbt I have ovulated 4 or 5 times. We are on our 4th metformin cycle, so hopefully this one is it. If not, we should be able to start a clomid cycle in March. (ob…

Yup, medically you need to have a period a minimum of every 90 days. I have a rx for provera on hand, but since starting metformin in September 2012 I'm on my 4th cycle since then but normally would go 40 - 100+ days without a period.

Feel free to add me, I've got over 100 lbs left to loose.

Have not done ww's myself, but I believe most locations will let you go to the 1st meeting free, so go check it out! Otherwise, I have found success in faithfully measuring portions and recording them here. I quickly figured out that I could eat a larger volume of healthy food for the same calories as the junk that I was…

Feel free to add me, I'm 23, 5'2, 253 lbs. I've got about 100 lbs to get to a comfortable weight, but to have a healthy bmi I would need to get down to 130 lbs. I lost 30 lbs from July - September. I got started on metformin for insulin resistance from PCOS & was very sick from it for 2 months & lost my motivation. I'm…

I've been on metformin since September of this year. I have not lost any additional weight since I lost 30 lbs over the summer, but I have not gained any weight back either. (kind of lost my motivation mid October) I was having 100 day cycles and my last one was 31 days & I just saw a positive ovulation predictor…

Not the best ever, but still pretty good, replace your eggs & oil with a can of pumpkin for a brownie mix. :-)

What she said :-) Make your own, whole grain crust, sauce, cheese, skip the meat & do lots of veggies. Have a normal portion, add a garden salad & maybe some fruit & you have a well balanced meal!

Good luck on your journey op! My breaking point was going through a board at our local bogwalk. Talk about embarrassing. The board was probably weak, but that was that. I was 283 at that point and this morning I am 262. Isn't it funny how stupid little things will motivate us the way they do.

That's terrible! Like the pp's said, you dodged a bullet & he did you a favor. There is no future with someone that shallow. Keep getting healthy for you! The right person will come along, loving you for who you are, regardless of your weight.

I eat between 1800-1900 calories a day and do not consume exercise calories. Although my tdee would be about 2700 calories a day, I don't think I would loose any weight eating that much. My current calorie consumption allows me to loose 2-3 lbs a week. I couldn't imagine trying to stick to a 1200 calorie diet.

I think that weight loss that is too rapid can put you into an annovulatory state. I would add in more fruits and veggies ,if you're going to have the carbohydrates, then you might as well make them count by eating complex ones. You could also add in some nuts and seeds since they are so nutrient dense (just watch your…

Aww, congrats! Fx'd you have a happy & healthy 9 months! :-)

By looking at your food diary, I'd say you're not eating enough. I think anything under 1200 calories is too low. I'd almost wonder if that had anything to do with af being mia. Did your doctor tell you how many calories to aim for? And how are you feeling? Metformin can be dangerous if it makes your blood glucose levels…

I wouldn't eat 4,000 calories but I would eat when I was hungry doing that much exercise. I would focus on whole grains, fruits, veggies, protien & lots of water. Good luck!

I'd say we have a bit in common, I'm 22 (23 in oct) and have two girls (3 & 1.5). I'm 5'2 as well but I'm quite a bit heavier. Heaviest was 283, now 6 weeks in I am 265. My 1st goal is 225 & 2nd goal is 175. For my body, I feel the best at 150-160, so that will be when I stop dieting and start maintaining. My eating…

I wouldn't say the lap band is a crutch. It is a last resort for someone who is so obese that it would be safer to have major abdominal surgery than to remain at the weight they are at. I do not have the lap band and that would never be an option I would want to utilize for myself. With that said, don't judge someone until…

Avocado is another high calorie food that is very good for you. & as some of the pp's said, nuts, seeds, natural peanut butter.

Way to go! You look great! :-)

Count me in for 10 lbs for October 1st :-)
