what everyone else has said. Open diary + friends = accountability, cheer squad, buddies to talk about nutrition and exercise without them getting bored with you. The other day I didnt post a hello message in the morning and a few people were looking for me - I hadnt even realised I was sending a hello message every…

But corn thins are highly processed and high GI so as a diabetic they are off limits for me. But otherwise not a bad idea!

We eat Heinz beans in Australia. But I skip the toast :)

If you don't eat egss then don't eat them. But if you are going to eat them then eat the yolks. Eggs are a whole food and an excllent source of nutrition! And eating eggs almost every day has certainly not hampered my weight loss - I've lost 35kg (77lbs) in just under 7 months, even while eating egg yolks! hahah

I agree that more fruit and veg would help a lot. I have been losing over the last 6 months by working on a mainly whole food diet trying to avoid processed food as much as possible, lots of meat, fish, egss, nuts, salads, fruit and veg etc. Feel free to friend me if you think I can help xx

Yes, excellent point. Nathan sports make a range of gear (like my drink bottle) that come with ID cards. They make everything with IDs and also reflective - if you're someone who runs at dawn like I do thats important!

iphone in an armband (for music and GPS tracking and calls if an emergency) and I have a really small fist grip water bottle with a pocket - which holds my key, a kleenex, ID and $10 for emergencies). I run for about an hour so dont need any huge water, but sometimes having a mouthful is lovely. The bottle only holds…

I am a running newbie too. I started off walking - walking at a rapid pace every day until I felt comfortable with that. Then after a few weeks I started running down hills and walking up hills. Then I startedrunning downhills and flat bits and walking up hills. Now I can run about 90% of the time I am running with only a…

This is why I hate the gym. When I am running on the road if people think anything bad I have run away from them before they can say it HAHAHA!

This. Why does everyone have to be so black and white about this? We all have different requiremenbts depending on body size, muscle mass, age, gender, activity, etc etc etc My medical team are thrilled with my progress, and my calculated needs by them are actually less than 1200 (Im short, female and over 40). I aim…

For me its about green tea, water, sparkling mineral water or soda water and I have coffee about once or twice a day but only with skim milk. I don't drink diet sodas anymore after I found that the artifical sweeteners seemed to make me more hungry and craving sweet things. I do break the "drinking calories" rules though…

I would love to eat whatever, but this is my first Christmas with diabetes so a lot of the really naughty stuff I can't eat anyway - no mince pies, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, chocolates, ice cream, shortbread, custard etc for me! Can't afford to let my blood sugar get out of control. I expect I am still going to…
