Saturday weigh-in: 228.4. Boo. I hope to see a better loss next week! Manda, from what I can tell, garlic scapes are apparently what you get before you get the garlic clove we're used to seeing. We're making some pesto with them today; I can't wait to try it! :) So tired today for some reason...must...force...myself...to…

Lacey, thanks so much for the garlic scape recipes! I had no idea what to do with them when I got them, so that site helps A LOT! And thanks everyone, for the words of encouragement and stories of frustration about weighing in...you're helping me not throw my scale out the window.

Sarah, thanks for sharing your frustration -- I'm right there with you! My first mistake was weighing myself this morning, even though my "official" weigh in day for myself isn't until Saturday. But I was SO SURE I'd see good results since my eating has been the best it's been maybe ever, and I've been doing the 30 Day…

Kendal and Lacey, that makes sense about just doing a modification. I'm always beating myself up in my head when I'm having a hard time doing things like a million jumps, but in reality I should just be happy I'm doing it at all! Just 2 weeks ago I couldn't do the things I can do now, so who cares if I need to make a…

Kerry, one of the hardest things for me on Shred are the jumping jacks followed by the "jump rope." Those explosive-type cardio moves kill me, which is why I know I'm not even close to being ready for P90X. But someday!! Also, I never saw Alias when it was airing, but I watched all the episodes through Netflix and loved…

Victoria, for me it's only when I'm on the elliptical -- not walking, running, sitting, biking, doing any other kind of aerobics, or anything else -- and the feeling isn't in my leg at all, but just a tingling in my feet. I still like doing the elliptical, I just always thought it was weird... Kendal, congrats! Musicians…

Katie, I have a weird thing that happens to my feet when I've been on the elliptical for more than 20 minutes too! It's not pain, but almost the feeling of my foot going to sleep...it's really weird! It doesn't happen to me every time though, but a lot of the time. Usually I don't stay on the elliptical more than 30…

Oh boy, this thread has a lot for a newbie to keep up with! :) First of all, Game of Thrones -- yes! I haven't been watching the show, but I just got finished with the first book. Loved it! Kristina, I'm on Goodreads too if you want to add me....I think you can add me if you search my e-mail address, treehugginpam at…

I'd like to join too, please! My name is Pam and I've been overweight most of my life (besides my junior high and high school years when I exercised the most). I'm finally fed up to the point where I want to make a change for good....I want to feel strong! I like to have adventures and do things like hiking, but right now…

If you live near a Trader Joe's, their natural peanut butter is super yummy...

That all makes sense...thanks, everyone!! :)

I got the Polar FT4 from heartratemonitorsusa.com, andI love it. All I wanted was a simple, not too expensive HRM to tell me my heart rate and how many calories I've burned, so that one was perfect for me. Also, Heart Rate Monitors USA shipped it to me the same day I bought it, with free shipping. Score! I just looked and…

I agree with everyone else, 2.5 pounds is not bad (even though I know it's frustrating). You mentioned being under your calories though -- sometimes that can do it. If you go under your calories AND you're working out, that can work against you. You need to make sure that you're giving yourself the energy you need to work…
