  • You can do it!! I saw on your ticker that you have about 25 pounds to lose...I have about 75 - 80 pounds to lose and I'm currently doing level 2. If I can do it, I know that you can do it! It's horribly hard and I can't do every single rep but I can do a lot of it, and that makes me feel like a rockstar. Just focus…
  • I'm on level 2 of 30DS, but I spent much longer than 10 days on level 1 (more like 20 days). I like level 2 better -- it's tougher, but more "fun" to me. I've heard bad things about level 3 though. I'm feeling much stronger but I honestly haven't seen a huge result as far as inches lost yet, and I'm working my butt…
  • Welcome! I'm working on a running program similar to C25K (it's called the Run Your Butt Off program. No, seriously  ), and it's hard for me too. I've always been terrible at running, so I'm taking it sloooooooow. So far I've worked up to being able to do 5 minutes of slow running, and that's a big deal for me! Just…
  • Canuckgurrl, I love that dress in your profile pic!!
  • I'm having the same problem! Exercising twice a day (30 Day Shred in the morning and run/walk at night), and the scale is barely moving at all. Nothing this week! SOOOO frustrating. If I'm working this hard, I want to see a benefit!
  • A HRM is a good idea...mine said that I burn around 210 - 220 calories when I started level 1, so when the burn went down into the 170s I knew it was time to switch to level 2, even though level 1 was by no means easy. You can get a pretty good HRM for not a lot of money...I use a Polar FT4 that I got for about $79.
  • Jillian is a killer! I felt nauseous and faint during Day 1, but it eventually got better for me. I actually did level one for about 2 1/2 weeks because it still felt like it wasn't easy. I wear a heart rate monitor while doing it though, and after that 2 1/2 weeks I noticed that I wasn't burning as many calories as I used…
  • Sounds like a great goal! Count me in!
  • I bought some Merrell Pace Gloves and have been using them for my runs most of the time. I'm still occasionally using my old sneakers because my calf muscles are still getting used to the barefoot running, so sometimes I give them a break. I love putting on my barefoot shoes and hitting the trail though -- hiking in them…
  • If it were me I'd probably flirt with him and then not let him go anywhere, just to annoy the crap out of him. Also it would feel good to know that a hot guy wants me AND I can turn him down knowing that another one, probably a hotter one with a better personality, will be right around the corner.
  • A year and 3 months to lose 80 - 95 pounds? Totally doable! That's only 5 - 6 pounds a month, not bad at all. I've got about 85 pounds I want to lose too, and I fully expect to be at my goal weight by October of next year. Tell your hubby to get on the bandwagon and get ready for a smaller wife. Good luck!
  • I think we've all been there! For me it always seems like everything strikes at once too -- those days when the scale is up, you can't find clothes to wear, co-workers say "wouldn't you like this homemade cookie?," and no matter what you eat you still feel like eating everything in sight. Congratulations for staying strong…
  • Congratulations; you look fantastic! Thanks for posting; you are very inspirational!
  • Wow, amazing transformation! You look fantastic! Thanks for posting this; you're very inspiring!!

  • So cool! I voted for you. I saw Deftones in Seattle with Alice in Chains October. Good times!
  • Woohoo, that's awesome!! I'm doing a run/walk program too and have just gotten to the point where I can run for 5 minutes...I can't wait until I'm where you are, running a full 20! Congratulations!
  • That all makes sense. I hadn't thought about workouts being tougher on a fuller belly....maybe I'll try to wait longer after I eat and see if it makes a difference. Thanks, everyone!
  • This definitely seems to work for me. Saturday is my "day off" from counting calories and is the day I allow myself to have something that might not fit into my normally restricted calorie intake without me severely cutting back on the other meals that day (hello, pizza). I still try to log all of my food in on those days,…
  • I can never seem to log in much on the weekends so I missed a lot, but I'll try to catch up! This weekend wasn't great for me exercise-wise...the bf & I went to see 3 movies (!) this weekend so there was a lot of sitting involved. BUT, I did have a NSV on Sunday -- during my run/walk program I was able to up the running…
  • Hi all, No time to catch up -- I have to make it to the farmer's market before all the good stuff is gone. I don't know if your farmer's markets are like this, but where I am if you go there even an hour after they open they're practically wiped out already! Good stuff though. Saturday weigh in: 225.2. I'm down…
  • Lacey, I've heard of calorie cycling but not sure how it works....does it just mean eating more calories on some days of the week than others? Kendal, there are seriously people deciding that it's "boobie day" on MFP and asking for/posting boob pictures? Really? I thought this site was supposed to be about losing weight;…
  • Kendal, I love it. That cartoon pretty much sums up why I exercise too. :) There have been some days when the only thing getting me on the treadmill in the evenings is because I see that mean red font with the negative sign in front of it for my calories. Oh well, whatever gets us moving, right? That's a shame about your…
  • Lacey, you're really rockin' the P90X! You're an inspiration! Any of you ever have days when all you can do is think about food? I'm normally fine focusing on each meal when it happens, but I've been looking forward to what I plan to have for dinner all day! On top of that, I keep wanting to snack on stuff....ugh, it's…
  • Hey all, I faced the scale this morning after my very bad weekend and it says I'm up 2 pounds. Totally sucks, but honestly I was bracing for worse. The good news is that I have jumped back into exercising...I was ridiculously exhausted yesterday but I forced myself to do my run/walk in the evening, and this morning I woke…
  • Hi all, I don't have much time to post because I'm at work trying to catch up with what I missed by taking Friday off, but I wanted to just pop in to say that I hope you all had a great weekend. Congratulations to those of you who lost this week and to those of you who were able to eat sensibly and work out this weekend! I…
  • Hey all, I don't have time to write, because we rented a boat and are heading out on the lake near us with the bf's family today. I can't wait...I've lived in this area for a year and have hiked by the lake side, but never gone boating in the water. Fun! Saturday weigh in: 225.6. Down 2.8 pounds this week, WOOHOO!! Finally…
  • Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't written in a little while -- my bf's family is coming to visit this weekend, so we've been crazy busy trying to get the house ready. I think I mentioned, we just moved in here in March and we still had 2 rooms full of boxes that we had to contend with. Not so fun, but I am happy to say that we…
  • I love that this group has so many world travelers! Please friend request me if you're planning on posting pictures of your travels; I want to be jealous. Nava, I empathize -- when I went to England in 2003 they were having a heat wave...it really made me appreciate air conditioning! I loved it so much out there…
  • Nava, I'm jealous! England is one of my most favorite places! When I visited Oxford, I kept thinking "I can't believe these beautiful buildings are dorms and classrooms." Have fun! I agree with you all, bath sheets are the best. I'm looking forward to a time when a hotel bath towel can fit all the way around me. Those…
