I'll catch up later, but here's my weigh-in for the week: 219.4. BOO!! High sodium and high sugar weekend combined with TOM is a bad combination.

Wine tasting was so fun! If only I could hire a driver to drive me around to different wineries every weekend....but that probably wouldn't be good for losing weight. I'm trying to fight off a cold and for some reason I wasn't sniffling and sneezing at all while I was drinking wine, so guess who drank a crap-ton of wine?…

Like the others have said, you'll probably want to play around with the calorie amount to see what works for you. I have about 75 pounds to lose too, and when I started my calories were set at 1400. I was losing super sloooooooowly, if at all, so I took other people's suggestions and upped my calories to about 1800,…

Challenges are good! And I did 30 Day Shred level 3 this morning which already made me do my push ups AND mountain climbers! :)

Well ladies, we're having gorgeous weather today here in WV, it's Friday, and tomorrow I'll be chauffeured around in a party van with 13 friends, tasting wine from 3 different wineries. It's a great day! Also I peeked at the scale today (I haven't looked all week, so I figured peeking today was okay) and it said that I've…

Amy, you just made me LOL! I had the same problem when I first tried the kit too, but I think I'm getting the hang of it now. I just have to make sure the hair is on the short side (way too much TMI) and be as quick as possible about it. A glass of wine beforehand helps too. :) That's awesome about your He-Man muscles!!…

I got my HRM from heartratemonitorsusa.com. They had super fast shipping and pretty good prices too. I got the Polar FT4, which is a more basic (and not too expensive) HRM, but I love it -- it does everything I need. It can even be worn while swimming! I know that a lot of people like the Polar FT7 too...I haven't tried…

WOOHOO!! I can't wait too! Here we go Steelers, HERE WE GO! And I live in Morgantown, WV, so I also have to add -- Let's go, Mountaineers!
-
Yay for cleaning to the max! I wore my HRM one time when I was cleaning the house and I was shocked to see how many calories I'd burned by the time I was done. Two birds, one stone! I don't know why, but lately I've been having a harder time getting all of my water in....I'm staring at a bottle of it right in front of me…

Thanks, all, for the workout suggestions! I'm definitely going to try to vary my workout. Saksgirl, great job on your workout!! I've been having to do that too lately, make myself work out when I'm not feeling it. Eyes on the prize, right? :)

Hosanna, I love your idea for a hen party! I've always wanted to see the Tuthenkahmen exhibit (I took a couple of anthropology/archaeology classes in college and loved that stuff), so I think it's a great idea. Your weekend in the park sounds like fun too! Hosanna/Lacey/Amy, I married my high school sweetheart -- met him…

Just got done running! Well, jog/walking. I looked back on my exercise log and the last time I did that was almost a week ago (last Thursday). Yikes! Thanks for the exercise challenge; I needed it!

Kerry, Guster is GREAT! I've seen them 4 times so far; the last time was in Pittsburgh this year. It's always a fun show. Your wedding sounds like it was fantastic...I can imagine being annoyed getting a $20 Target gift card if I'd planned a wedding like that. Lacey/Amy, you should know that I went on ideeli today and…

I'm going to try to jump in before I get way too far behind this time! Kristina, red lentil thai chili sounds AWESOME!! My dinners have been kind of boring lately; I wind up making the same things over and over. I need to make something like red lentil thai chili! Karen, I'm the same as you when it comes to friends -- I…

Lesley, I hadn't heard of Power 90 but it looks good! I want to eventually work up to P90X, but I know I'm not there yet...is Power 90 as intense as P90X?

Hey all, What are you guys doing for exercise? I was exercising twice a day -- doing 30 Day Shred in the morning and run/walking at night -- but I feel myself getting bored and less motivated. I need to mix things up! I just bought Turbo Jam and that seems like it'll be fun....what do you all regularly do?
-
An exercise challenge is exactly what I need! I haven't been working as hard with the exercise as I used to...I think I'm getting bored with my routine. I was exercising twice a day in the beginning, and now I have to force myself. It's been a few days since I've done my run/walk thing, so I plan on getting back into that…

This morning I did NOT weigh myself on the scale! Woohoo! I've been doing it every morning and it's been driving me nuts, so I'm trying to quit the madness. Later this week is supposed to be TOM, so I figured that now is as good of a time as any to not weigh every day. I've been exercing less lately...still doing…

Everything on the menu at Red Robin! The veggie burger I used to get was over 1,400 calories!! What?!
-
Woohoo!! I'm getting excited thinking of how different I plan to look by Christmas. We can do this!!
-
I'll join! CW: 218.6 GW: 185 NSV: I would like to be able to jog for 20 minutes without stopping to rest!
-
Take heart -- it's probably just water weight. You would've had to have eaten 3500 extra calories just to gain a pound of fat, and how many had you lost? 4? I'm guessing you didn't eat 14,000 calories extra this weekend. There's a good chance the scale is just up due to high sodium intake, lack of water, or even…

I'll catch up later, but a quick check in to post my weight this week: Weigh in: 218.6 Down 2.6 pounds from last Monday! I can't believe it! I had been weighing in on Saturdays and was thrown off last weekend when I was out of town and didn't have a scale...I planned on going back to a Saturday weigh-in this week, but I'm…

Weigh in: Starting weight: 225.8 07/23/11: 221.8 08/01/11: 221.2 08/08/11: 218.6 Down 2.6 pounds from last Monday! I can't believe it! I had been weighing in on Saturdays and was thrown off last weekend when I was out of town...I planned on going back to Saturday this week, but I'm going to be without a scale this upcoming…

We got garlic scapes in our CSA last month....I had never even HEARD of a garlic scape before! I googled and found a great recipe for garlic scape pesto, and we've been eating it ever since. YUM. I love being part of a CSA!!

No pitchforks here! There is a difference between a man wanting you to be healthier vs. a man wanting you to be thinner, though. Does your man want you to lose weight so that you won't get diabetes, won't have a heart attack, won't die early? Awesome. I agree! Does he want you to be thinner just because he doesn't like fat…

I think I'm going to take your advice! Weighing every morning is definitely NOT helping my sanity. :grumble:
-
Thanks, everybody. You've made me feel MUCH better about my scale worries. I will back away from the evil scale now. Nava, that shirt sounds so cool! Amy, I love that dress! So cute!! I've got to get a new dress for a wedding I'm going to in September, but I'm hoping if I wait until closer to the time that I'll be…

I use it, but more for the health benefits than the weight loss. I follow the "recipe" on the Bragg's bottle and do 8 oz of water with 2 teaspoons of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of honey. Some people complain about the taste, but when I use that recipe I actually really like the taste! I'm a fan of sour/bitter stuff though (I…

I really need to stop weighing myself every morning...I'm up today. I've decided that my body just must hate me. :) I had the realization this morning that I've lost 7.8 pounds in the last 6 weeks, but 4 of those pounds were all in one week and 2.8 of those pounds were in another. So basically for the other 4 weeks I only…
