  • Three things have helped my lower body and legs slim down: 1) doing Zumba, 2) using exercise machines that work the lower body, and 3) squats, lunges, step-ups, etc. Doing the items in number 3 doesn't cost anything. Just learn how to do the moves. Some gyms don't cost too much in monthly dues, or there may be centers in…
  • Thank you so much for this thread!!!

  • My final tally... Started on Aug. 3rd (if I remember correctly), finished on Aug. 31. Won : 20 (on or under my daily goal) Binge Monster reared its ugly head, but I eventually "won" over it : 3 (went over my daily goal, but less than 500 calories) Binge Monster kicked my tail : 5 (went over my daily goal by 500 or more)
  • I'm sorry that you aren't allowed to play anymore :( . It's such a shame since you enjoyed it so much. I'm going to show hubby your post, maybe it'll be the push needed to getting him onto the court :) . I purchased eye protection, and, LOL, a mouth/teeth guard - whatever it's called - :embarassed: . The salesclerk…
  • I purchased one at the beginning of the year. It zeros out, has a large database of foods, and has a cool nutrition label look that when it weighs food, fills in all of the categories. I haven't been using it, but that will be changing after reading this thread.
  • Terrific recipes :glasses: . Thanks to all for sharing
  • Thanks for posting the recipe. Going to give it a try since it'll save calories over the nobake chocolate oatmeal cookies my husband likes to make on occasion.
  • I'm very new to all this - watching what I eat and exercising, so this may not be much help :embarassed:, but... Do you do any strength training exercises (free weights, machines, etc.)? If I understand my trainers, strength training exercise will help build up muscle, and the muscles then burn calories even when I'm…
  • Loved your easy to understand post! Now I get it :glasses:. Thank you!
  • I'm going to have to try that. Sounds good! Today I purchased the Vanilla Protein powder Curves fitness center sells. They had a day when they made up samples for patrons to try. I'd never tried protein powder before and thought it wasn't bad... but maybe it was the recipes that I liked  . I'll find out soon enough…
  • In clothes, with shoes on, any time of day or night, floor scale at home or doctor's scale at doctor offices or gyms.
  • Sounds delicious.
  • Worth a try. Thanks for posting this recipe.
  • I hate mayonnaise. I'm amazed to see so many other people don't like it. Growing up people acted like my siblings and I had done in Santa Clause by not liking the food. Even had a great aunt who tried to fool us into eating it :frown: :noway: . It didn't work; we knew immediately that the dreaded stuff was in the dish.…
  • I'm the same way :( . I've always been embarrassed about it and have given a lot of thought about having surgery, but put that thought on the back burner when I started working out a few months ago. Hoped for a chest miracle to occur  . I'll keep hoping for the time being, but if the rest of my body gets to a good…
  • Amazingly creative. Your fillings are more appealing than PopTart's fillings. Thanks for sharing the recipe and calorie counts :flowerforyou: .
  • Won :glasses: : 5 (on or under my daily goal) Binge Monster reared its ugly head :noway: , but I eventually "won" over it  : 2 (went over my daily goal, but less than 500 calories) Binge Monster kicked my tail  : 2 (went over my daily goal by 500 or more)
  • 1. Try Aqua Zumba 2. Try Racquetball (I've already purchased the equipment, just having a difficult time convincing hubby it's worth trying.)

  • Breads. Any kind of breads. Asiago Cheese Bread, Yeast Rolls, Rye Bread, Pumpernickel Bread, French Bread, Veggie Focaccia Bread, Italian Breadsticks, Croutons, Sweet Rolls, Cinnamon Buns, Orange Rolls, Danish... And of course high quality REAL butter to go with all those lovely breads. I've been doing pretty good forgoing…
  • There have been so many, but here's a sample: 1. As kids, my younger brother calling me fatty. 2. My uncle, in a room with other people around, making a comment about my wide hips. That was embarrassing and felt creepy. Anytime I had to be around him during childhood, or now as an adult, those feelings came/come to mind.…
  • I'm curious about this as well. I love spending time at the gym on the recumbent bike and treadmill, occasionally elliptical, go to Curves for their circuit machines and doing Zumba classes as often as possible. At the moment, working on gym weight machines and free weights haven't won my heart yet, so cardio keeps me in…
  • The trainer (I'm a newbie to fitness and trainers) has me do two planks or side planks during my workout, but I imagine s/he will have me change the number from time to time - once during a workout, twice sometimes, etc. The time varies, too. Sometimes 20 seconds, sometimes 30 seconds. Variety of exercises used, reps,…
  • :D Hehehe! Sorry to see you lost the fight with that foe also. Hopefully we'll both have more resistance to it the next time. I'm off to get another workout in today, sigh...
  • I'm 5'4" When starting my weight loss journey (pre-MFP), I was 248 lbs. Current weight : 234 lbs 1st Goal : 199 lbs Ultimately, I'd like to get to : 135 lbs
  • I'll give this a try. I always thought of binging as constantly going for something more to eat, but for this challenge I'll consider a binge being 500 + calories above my daily allowance. I'll start with the day just ended - August 3rd. Me: 1 Binge: 0
