Lot of good advice given already. Everybody's diabetes is a bit different though, and everyone reacts differently to certain types of food, meds, activity etc. For me, exercise has been my best weapon so far. Well, it's a combo as I lost a lot of weight and changed my diet to low carb as well. But exercise had an immediate…

SW October: 186 GW October: 180 End of week 1: 183.6 End of week 2: 181.9 End of week 3: 180 sweet, reached my goal weight, wouldn't have expected the loss of the last week (to be pedantic, there would still be 1 day to go :D) as I was travelling 4 days with eating out 3 times a day.

SW 193.3 End of Week 1: 191.8 End of Week 2: 189.8 End of Week 3: 188.5 CW: 186.5 down 6.8, 1.2 to go ... I actually did a further weigh in after my workout this morning, at 184.5 , but that doesn't really count, now does it :D I'm absolutely happy with the result in any case.

Allen Carr should have gotten a nobel prize of some sorts =) I did quit a week ago. I second the Little Monster comments. I do that too from time to time :D the book makes it so much easier compared to just using discipline and willpower.

SW 193.3 End of Week 1: 191.8 End of Week 2: 189.8 CW: 188.5 Down 4.8, 3.2 to go. Quite happy with it, as I was between 190 and 191 for the most days last week. Also was travelling for 3 days and didn't get any workout in during those days. Next week again travelling without workouts and with lots of eating out and…

aced the exercises which gave me trouble before on the P90x Leg & Back workout (this was my third), and after reading the thread about how difficult the pistol squat is, tried one.. and no, I didn't manage to do it, but the strength was were, the balance gave me trouble. and I will figure that out in the next days :)

Hmm, so, mine might be a bit boring in that regard, because for me it is health. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and I immediately knew that this was it. Enjoyed 3 more days of my favorite unhealthy food, and haven't looked back since. All the other things are just a bonus motivation, but there is only this one real…

everyday at home. Works for me, I don't get mad at the scale.

I have stretch marks myself... got them on my belly when I went from 215 to 225 pounds. Yes, when they are fresh , huge and red, it's not a pretty sight. But.. they will indeed fade over time, and once they are faded, the really aren't that bad anymore. I don't mind them at all now. I never tried out any creams or so, but…

Weight can fluctuate, so maybe weigh in again tomorrow and the day after, just to be sure...
-
True, but I think it's more so if you are insulin dependent. I could be of course very wrong here :)

Personally, I'm not controlling carbs as much (though currently I'm doing lower carb until I reached my goal weight), but what kind of carbs and what their glycaemic index is. The higher the glycaemic index is, the higher the blood glucose spike is. I don't follow that religiously, but it's also quite easy. Just go with…

I think that should be rather related to natural fluctuation of your weight, a single donut cannot in any universe cause you to gain 3 pounds. roughly 10500 calories are needed for 3 pounds.. that must have been a huuuuuuuuge donut ;-)

It's the pancreas, not the liver, and it is typically diabetes type 2. Go see a doc and get blood work done, then you will know. Lowering insulin resistance naturally? Yes, eat healthy, lose weight and work out. I was just recently diagnosed with it, and I was able to get it under control within a short amount of time (at…
