  • When I got below 200, I said I would start doing the Couch to 5K...week 2 happening now. I had a massage at 25 pounds. Booked my 20th anniversary (1 1/2 years late) trip to Mexico when i hit my 50 lb mark. Looking forward to figuring out the next one...some good ideas.
  • I went Christmas dress shopping at Dressbarn and when I showed them a picture of what I wanted, they said they didn't have any in the women's section (where I went) but they thought they had it on the other side of the store. It fit!! I BOUGHT SOMETHING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORE!!! :)
  • From what I've seen/read/heard you should still work out if you have a head cold but if you have symptoms below the neck like muscle fatigue, vomiting etc you should forgo any workout. If its just not feeling like it because you are out of sorts, accountability buddies are awesome. My sister and I work out together. We…
  • It was at my 8 week follow up appointment that I was released for everything.
  • I'm 43 and live in North Dakota. I was sleeved on 8/29/16 HW: 275 SW: 254 CW: 219
  • Hi. I'm Tracy from North Dakota. I'm 43 years old and had my sleeve done on 8/29/16 so I'm 2 months out. Highest Weight: 275 Surgery Weight: 254 Current Weight: 219 Height: 5'5" I'm very excited because this past weekend I finally gave myself permission to go shopping for some new clothes. I have been wearing a size 24 for…
  • I had surgery on 8/29...I went clothes shopping for the first time. Went from a 24 to an 18!! First time in a "teen" sized pant in many, many years.
  • I'm not a smoker but what I've heard is that many doctors won't even operate on someone that smokes. That smoking causes complications that could lead to leaks and/or ulcers.
  • The pre-op is hard. One thing I did was to have 2 protein shakes per day and then a meal. I remember thinking, geez, if its so hard to do, how am I going to be successful afterwards. Don't worry about that. It's much easier to meet the goals right after surgery than it is before. The sleeve is definitely a great tool. I am…
  • Welcome to all the “newbies.” This is a wonderful group of folks that are very encouraging and inspirational. I used to get on here every day because I had a job that was slow to say the least. Now I’m in a rush, rush, rush environment. That makes my day go faster but sometimes I forget to take a break and get on the…
  • Sunday Share and Monday Check In: My name is Tracy. My Fitness Pal ID is NewCaddy because my nickname is college was Cadillac (maiden name Saville) and it was time for me to turn in the old and get a New Caddy!! I have been married for 21 years and have two kids (Jacob – 15 and Emma – 10). I work as a supervisor for a…
  • @pneschich ... I am just shy of 4 weeks from the gastric sleeve surgery. It was a hard decision and there certainly isn't the right answer. For me I had thought about weight loss surgery for years but the turning point was watching my Mom struggle with her health issues that can all be traced back to being overweight most…
  • Wednesday Wish – that I would be able to lay on my stomach so I could go to the chiropractor. My back is out of whack and I need it fixed. @Karen…I hate the deadlifts so I don’t think I’d miss them. I know they are a good thing but oy they are hard after a while. I will get back to lifting when I’m cleared. Can’t imagine…
  • Wow! My week has gotten away from me. I went back to work on Tuesday last week and was in pain the whole day. Wednesday morning I woke up and really couldn't move much/well. I called the doctor and they said it was perfectly normal not to be ready to go at 2 weeks. They put me on half days through today. That has…
  • @Liz...that coffee shop sounds pretty neat. Nice place to meet up with friends. @pneschich...great activity level and a nice healthy meal. @pink.... yes, I'll start protein shakes tomorrow. There are limits as to what I can add at this point, but eventually anything I want. I'll definitely reach out when I need some new…
  • @cjbrummet ...I'm not offended because its such a personal choice, but I do want to make a correction. The gastric sleeve removes the stretchiest part of the stomach. So while you can stretch it a bit by eating too much, you can never go back to having a stomach as large as before. From talking with my doctor and the…
  • Week, my husband and I headed to Target. It was slow walking for 30-40 minutes but by the end I was exhausted. Well go again tomorrow for another one.
  • I thought I would just check in. I'm trying to keep up with the board, but I've been pretty sleepy. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on Monday morning. Got home on Wednesday. They said everything went well and I just need to heal. It gets a little bit better every day but certainly not ready to do laps yet. Good thing I have…
  • Karen, what type of tracker do you have?
  • @Elizabeth2360…I do a deep water aerobics class at my Y and love it! It’s really a great workout. @rach…does it help if you “reward” yourself for a walk? Maybe I’m going to take my 10 minute wlak and when I get back I’ll reward myself with a coffee?” @Karen…TRUTH! Not that I never complain, but I had a co-worker at my last…
  • Thank you. I've struggled with the decision but I've watched my mom's health deteriorate after years of being over weight (dialysis 3 days a week, can't hold her grandchildren leery alone play with them and uses a walker even at home) and with heart, diabetes and kidney failure in my family genes I finally decided to take…
  • Just my 2 cents from past experience (with that said, I haven't been successful as of late, but did pretty well when I first started). I did well without eating back my calories for a few weeks and then I think my body figured it out and stalled big time. I did eat back most of my exercise calories but not always and that…
  • Sunday Share: I’m Tracy. I am 43 and live in Bismarck. I’m enjoying my new job as a Ship Direct Lead (been here 3 months now and got some positive reviews from my Manager so it helps me feel like I’m on track as far as learning the job). I just celebrated my 21st anniversary with my husband Michael and have two kids –…
  • Thursday Truth: I had my company picnic yesterday and while I stayed within my calorie goal, I ate two hotdogs….can feel the water retention in my legs!! Friday Fitness: Friday – on my feet to do a cake Saturday – Going to the zoo / amusement park / mini golf with my family Sunday – choir tour Monday – Water aerobics…
  • Just a real quick check in. My niece turned one today so we had a birthday party for her and then I went to a two-hour choir practice. We are doing a one-day two concert tour on Sunday so we needed to get vocal cords back in shape. Now I'm watching the Olympics. Which leads me to My Wish for Wednesday- that my severance…
  • Tuesday Goals: • Clear my dining room table off • Walk • Put away clean clothes • Find my fitbit charger (I didn’t wear it for a week because I was in and out of the water so I didn’t want to wreck it – but apparently, can’t figure out where I put the charger!!) @Nikion901…thank you for the update on Robin. She certainly…
  • Monday check-in. I was on vacation at the beach from Saturday to Saturday. I think I did pretty good with food and exercise, but not salt, beer and soda. Because I had late nights and early mornings, the drive to and from Minnesota (5 hours) did include salt and soda. I can feel it in my legs yesterday and today. I started…
  • @wadwrich…its amazing how the steps add up though when you just get outside and move. @celtikgirl…what is this Amazing Race that you speak of? (oh, I see, you posted it…thanks, I’ll have ot check that out!) @virginislander2…late nights are my downfall too. I’m trying to find an activity to substitute. Right now that is…
  • Sunday Share: I’m Tracy and I live in North Dakota with my husband of almost 21 years and our two kids (both have birthdays this month and are going to be 15 (Jacob) and 10 (Emma). I just started a new job. I manage a team that handles direct ships for a manufacturing company and I love it. I love being out with people…
  • @Michelle…I think that is a great weight loss. It would be great if it would drop off more quickly, but I think what you’ve done so far is great. @Niki…I eat back my calories burned too. I think it’s mostly determined with how your settings are. I choose sedentary so I add anything I do above and beyond as extra calories.…
