I've done Insanity 2 times so far. The first time I gained 2lbs ine the first 3-4 weeks before I started losing weight. But, and a big one, I lost inches. After recovery week I dropped about 14lbs in the next 4 weeks by the time I was finished. I lost 5 inches about 4" from my waist. Stay incouraged and stay the course,…

If you don't allow little treats in your diet then you will probably give up after a period of time. You have to mentally learn to watch your portions and keep your carp/protein/fat ratios in check.
-
I hear what you're saying. My wife has told me a few people have asked her if i'm ok since i've lost so much. I'm right a little higher weight as you at 151 lbs. I started at 196. I feel great about what i've accomplished and I have just started Asylum. I expect a little mass to be gained, but really hope to keep my waist.

You are correct as far as noting the calorie deficit, BUT 2 things: 1. As others noted, diet is very important. 2. If you think you might be wasting time exercising, then your mind is not yet in the right place. Both are needed as part of a healthy lifestyle
-
Your weight loss will plateau if you're not eating enough. You are correct 1200 is very low and if you are exercising on top of that then your body is adjusting to prevent starvation. You actually probably need to eat more and work towards a steady slow weight loss while slowly increasing your metabolism.
-
NOTE: following parkercd3's example is not healthy. Garbage in / garbage out.

1 Question, Are you eating enough? If you're not making your calories, you may actually not be eating enough. You can lose weight by starving for only a short amount of time then your body compensates to keep you from starving. Your metabolism slows down and you find yourself eating less and not losing weight. I have been…

Goto "exercise" tab, click on my exercises and you'll see a button to add exercise. I've typed in each Insanity routine into mine and then I use my HRM to determine how many calories are burned.

By the sound of it, you may not have been eating enough. You can always have a deficit and lose in the first couple of weeks easily but if you are working out and you don't eat enough for the workload, you will plateau.
-
Just embrace the fact that your spouse will do the routines with you. His body will let him know when he over does it. As long as you go till the end he will too no matter how sore he is.
-
Great time to start working on it. If you wait until January you'll regret it cause you'll probably have another 10lbs. to deal with.
-
If you have too large a deficit you are going to plateau. It sounds odd, but sometimes you need to eat more to lose. I hit plateau for several weeks and then right after adding 300 calories/day i started losing again. I'm in the process of adding again this week. We'll see Monday, but I expect it to be better again. The…

You should be eating back your exercise calories or at least 75% of them. That is unless your setup is completely off.

It's a lifestyle change for the better. If you grab and go all the time, you'll be right back where you were. Once you learn some of the things you like and the calories, you'll be able to grab them for your snack, just don't forget to add to MFP shortly after.

Awesome to hear you're going a 2nd time. I'm on week 6 of my second plus i completed a hybrid of P90x/Insanity in between.

I'm there for anyone needing support. BB coach SWREZn8. I'm hoping to start a new challenge group in January when I'm done this round of Insanity.
-
I am on my second round also, and just so happens I started on 11/05 also. How are you making out this round. Just wrapped up recovery week. Looking forward to MAX weeks starting Monday.
-
Thanks momwa, also I start each workout day with a total 7-9 cups of water before/during/after workout, then usually get about 2-4 more throughout the day.
-
I've done Insanity Core Cardio & Balance everyday this week and P90x AbRipperX 3days(MWF).

Leveled off recently, in middle of Insanity and will finish in beginning of January, I looking to find people who will commit to losing weight in December instead of making the big promise that that's what they're going to do when the new year hits. I plan on trying to lose about 6 lbs this month.

Results and Recovery formula for after workouts has a lot of carbs to replenish what you burned.

definitely go with the protein shake as others have commented. You can add 400-500 calories with one shake. Just mix with skim or 1% milk to save the fat. I go with 1 scoop to 2 cups of milk. Sometimes add an extra 1/2 scoop or take a second shake to work with me when I need extra protein and calories for intense workout…

I'm always willing to help others. If you're ready to commit and work hard, look me up. You can also find me on team beachbody as a coach "SWREZn8".

Insanity is approx 40mins for the first 5 weeks. Weeks 6-9 bump up to 50-60 minutes. They do ship you the fast and furious 20 minute workout DVD when you order through a coach. That's good for days you just don't have the extra time. If you want, look me up on beachbody as coach SWREZn8.

You may not like mornings but it may be your only choice. Before 6 months ago I would get up at 5am in order to leave for work at 5:30am. I for one would snooze to get that last minute in the morning. 6 months ago I needed to do something to lower cholesterol and lose weight. I selected the Insanity workout since it was…

BIG difference, the meal replacements are usually loaded with either fat or carbs. Find a good protein mix or bb's shakeo and use skim milk as a mixer.

Any thoughts about doing Asylum and Asylum 2? It includes resistance not found in Insanity.
