^^^ right on there. I have always avoided pastas and breads because it only takes a short time to start gaining weight when eating a lot of them, even when working out regularly. Two suggestions to help a bit more: One, invest in an inexpensive food scale. You will be amazed how much you underestimate what you think you…

I weigh in every morning when I get up and record it. I cheat though. Even if I weight the same, my scale lets me track Body Fat Percentage, Total Body Water Weight, Muscle Weight and Bone Mass. Knowing all of those things I have had some days where I gained two pounds over a course of a week, but the body fat percentage…

If I recall correctly, doing an exercise like running for long periods the body adjusts to that exercise and becomes more efficient utilizing calories for it, so you won't burn as much as when you first started. I had the same problem with cycling when I first started hitting the gym. I couldn't get my heart rate up until…

Same here. I've had some of the earlier workouts hit over 700. That has been dropping and the last two workouts my average HRM has been about 7 beats lower and I'm nearly recovering in the breaks rather than hitting pause and waiting for it to come down.

Definitely use a heart monitor. It is the best way to track your own calories and will be more accurate than the estimates from MFP, especially on Insanity workouts. There are too many variables to have an estimate work for everyone. You don't have to get the entire strap/watch combo either. I've had one in the past, but…

You will be sore for the first week and maybe into the second. They are correct on drinking PLENTY of water and going for a recovery formula post workout. There are a lot of vitamins, minerals and such that it puts back into your system to help the muscles recover faster. If not using the Beachbody one, find a different…

If you want to build any muscle you have to push it beyond what it can currently do. Basically what you are doing should work. Just know you may not be able to get all the way through this round, but any subsequent ones you can get there. The P90X videos do a lot of push ups too and they say on that one to do it until you…

If that is the case, did you put all of the other setting in? Age, Height, Weight? It uses those to make that calculation.

Definitely look into the heart monitor. I know I will be somewhere around 600 - 800 calories for the heavier workouts like the Cardio Power & Resistance and somewhere around 350-400 for the Cardio Recovery. I am 5'11" and right now 241. The heart monitor also helps to know when you "actually" are working really hard as…

I use the Met-Rx Protein Plus Protein Bars. Most of the ones I've found have high sugars/carbs. These have carbs, but only 2g of sugar. It also makes a great meal replacement when I get stuck so I usually have some in the saddlebags when heading across town or on trips. For a protein shake, I use the recipe from the P90X…
